This is gut wrenching and since having my son has always been a huge fear of mine that something like this could happen to him.
Toddler dies after 50-foot fall from Staples Center luxury suite - ESPN Los Angeles (http://sports.espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/news/story?id=5838014)
Apparently mammals are born with the fear of heights but I swear my son missed this lesson.
If you have small children Iam sure you know this sinking feeling, it only takes them a second to get into trouble, a second!

Check out this lucky kid.

My daughter who is going on 4 went out our side door on her own a few weeks back. She was looking for me but I was inside. Good news nothing happened and we fixed the problem before something bad could happen.

That one has got to be photoshopped or something. NO ONE else in the mall reacted, even when the kid was falling. The people on the escalator going up didn't move, and then when the man catches him another walker just blithely walks past. I don't see anyway that is real.

I heard this on the news a few minutes ago. HORRIBLE. Sad.
I hate stories like this. I'm probably like most parents and when I hear something like this, the thought comes into my mind "what if this were my son".
News like this can really bring you down.
Mental note...no balcony seats at games.

Damn, just damn.
My heart goes out to them. I don't know how I could go on if I lost my boy. Wow,...damn

It's a funny thing, before I had children a story like this would have gotten this response from me, "Damn, that's a shame."
Now it generates a substantial emotional reaction because it's so easy for me to picture it happening to my child.
Death sucks indeed.

Same for me!
You know that sinking feeling you get when you are just about to get hurt or receive bad news, like the color washes out of you. I use to only get that for myself but now when my son falls or gets hurt or is in danger of being hurt I get the same feeling as though it was going to happen to me.

This is very sad indeed.
This just makes me think how lucky I am to be alive: 25 years ago I cracked my skull on Thanksgiving after going head first over the handrail on my parents' basement steps. I was 3 years old at the time and going down the steps when I leaned over the rail for some reason, lost my balance and fell about 8 feet onto a concrete floor. This kind of thing can happen so fast that its really scary. I feel terrible for this family.

Yet he still spells better than you.
