I guess LL will be out again Sun?
Injuries will create a youth movement opportunityskinsfaninok 11-22-2010, 06:32 PM I guess LL will be out again Sun? mooby 11-22-2010, 06:43 PM Just out of curiosity, has Shanahan ever had a late round running back named Davis that was taken in the 6th round of the draft? I don't know if he can succeed with such an unfamiliar last name. I think he did once, some guy who had a 2k season I believe. Can't remember his name because he's obviously not that important but I think he was a flash in the pan. SFREDSKIN 11-22-2010, 06:57 PM I think he did once, some guy who had a 2k season I believe. And that flash in the pans college coach was another flash in the pan coach, I think his name was something like George Allen. Monkeydad 11-22-2010, 07:30 PM I guess LL will be out again Sun? LaRon and Carlos both expected to miss the Minny game too. SirClintonPortis 11-22-2010, 08:19 PM In your opinion. Someone's temporary improvement is someone elses last key piece to a Super Bowl roster. Remember Gibbs did not want Theisman and Riggins when he first got here? There is no 100% perfect single way to build a team. You can be stocked with a ton of great draft picks, but if you do not know how to draft (Snyderatto) and have some luck, all those picks will go to waste. You never know what can happen in a year or two...we could win a Super Bowl with Mcnabb in the next year or two? Stranger things have happened. Sorry pal, the Gibbs beast years had the majority of their parts come from the draft in 1981, 1982, 1983. Never did I say solely from the draft and UDFAs. But it's the usual means of getting "hard to get talent" like elite passer rushers, QBs, etc. Yes, they'll probably miss on some parts --sometimes MAJOR PARTS, i.e pass rusher, QB, etc-- and have to address those externally, but it's highly likely at least 50% of the starters will be from the draft. It not that the draft picks are necessarily BETTER than the outside acquisitions, but they provide a solid foundation to build on. 1982 Washington Redskins Starters, Roster, & Players - Pro-Football-Reference.com (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/was/1982_roster.htm) You take a look at the starters and backups, and there are a ton of names there who either were drafted by Beathard or were UDFA by us. Yeah, a lot big guys like Riggo and Joey T were pickups from "outside" the organization, but just as many and more were home-grown. But I said at least 50% of the starters, not all. :D GMScud 11-22-2010, 08:37 PM I laughed my ass off when I read this: Shanahan also confirmed that the injury bug stretched beyond the roster in Sunday's game. Eric Steward, the team's associate athletic trainer, injured his MCL at halftime trying to treat all the injured players, and is undergoing an MRI. Redskins Insider - Chad Simpson, Anderson Russell to IR (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/clinton-portis/chad-simpson-anderson-russell.html#more) CultBrennan59 11-22-2010, 08:40 PM LaRon and Carlos both expected to miss the Minny game too. their injuries must be pretty bad..they didn't seem that bad against the eagles, enough for them to sit out then. saden1 11-22-2010, 08:51 PM The only movement I want to see is one in which Casey Rabach is sent to the bench. SmootSmack 11-22-2010, 09:45 PM I get the feeling some people don't realize how many starters on our championship teams weren't actually drafted or even Undrafted free agents by the skins. And this in an era where free agency is nothing like it is today, there wasn't really a salary cap and drafts went 12 rounds Dirtbag59 11-22-2010, 09:47 PM Well it figures that we'd get a few injuries headed our way. It's not like we were knocking out opposing players by playing patty cake. When you play as physical as some of our guys have this year then injuries are bound to happen. |
