We could definitely use his blocking. McNabb must be smiling right now.
Portis is back, will play Sunday53Fan 11-20-2010, 10:55 AM We could definitely use his blocking. Put the load on Williams and ATV and just have Portis Block on 3rd downs. Maybe give him a couple on short yardage situations, but that's it. We will need him down this stretch. aceinthehouse 11-20-2010, 12:43 PM Good, I didn't want to say it but Keiland Williams is no CP or even Torain. Are you kidding? The guys scored 3 TD's last week. One from about 40 yards out.... otherwise it would have been 59-7 with young as the only score... SirClintonPortis 11-20-2010, 04:28 PM Good, I didn't want to say it but Keiland Williams is no CP or even Torain. CP would have fell down and taken a knee if he was making that run against the Eagles. He's not the same speedster he was in 2005. Depreciation has set in for Clinton Portis. SolidSnake84 11-20-2010, 05:03 PM CP would have fell down and taken a knee if he was making that run against the Eagles. He's not the same speedster he was in 2005. Depreciation has set in for Clinton Portis. Agree 100%. Portis is not the same guy from yesteryear that people remember. He's had piles of injuries that have left him worn out, fragile, and jaded to the game, to the point where he voluntarily slides down or takes a knee so that he doesnt have to take the hit. He may only be 29, but Portis is way past his prime due to the serious amount of injuries he's had to endure, and the fact that Joe Gibbs basically ran him into the ground. He is a definate asset to pass protection blocking. That is is only value for this team in 2010. His speed is gone, he is not an every down back anymore, and now, he is injury prone. I would think if they want to keep him healthy for the remainder of the season, he takes a minimal role, and is used situationally. rbanerjee23 11-20-2010, 08:29 PM Are you kidding? The guys scored 3 TD's last week. One from about 40 yards out.... otherwise it would have been 59-7 with young as the only score... That's true...guy did have decent production. Still glad that CP is back though, doesn't hurt to have more than your 3rd string RB active for a game. 44ever 11-20-2010, 08:30 PM Are you kidding? The guys scored 3 TD's last week. SolidSnake84 11-21-2010, 06:42 PM Now that the game is over, was anyone surprised that Portis was injured AGAIN?? I mean seriously, CP. Nothing but respect to you dude but it's over. I appreciate the effort in trying to come back, we all do, but i think the writing is on the wall here in DC. Liked what i saw from Williams today.. Alvin Walton 11-21-2010, 07:22 PM The kid is made of glass FFS. He wont be on the roster next year. |
