A WR would be a waste. I would rather take OT Anthony Costanzo then a WR. That would solidify our OL for years to come. I don't care what position it is .... Anyone of them can be a bust. So if AJ Green is there at 10 you would pass ?? Cmon man. skinsfaninok 03-18-2011, 09:04 PM I know it's risky but you guys are acting like wr are a dime a dozen. I don't care what position it is .... Anyone of them can be a bust. So if AJ Green is there at 10 you would pass ?? Cmon man. WELL SEEING AS YOU CAN GET GOOD WR'S IN LOWER ROUNDS, THEY ARE A DIME A DOZEN IMO.. Look at Dallas with Miles Austin, Philly with D.J and NY with Steve Smith, just to name a few in our division.. WR's taken in the first round are more likely to fade away than to become stars.. Fitz, AJ80, Calvin Johnson and Randy Moss are exceptions to that rule but I'd rather go with OLB, DB, OL or QB at 10. Dirtbag59 03-18-2011, 09:13 PM If AJ Green truly is a Calvin Johnson type prospect (ie Physically gifted with a good head on his shoulders) we have to take him. skinsfaninok 03-18-2011, 09:16 PM If AJ Green truly is a Calvin Johnson type prospect (ie Physically gifted with a good head on his shoulders) we have to take him. I agree but how often does a CJ come around? Not much especially in the top 10.. Ask SF how Crabtree is working out? Or Cleveland with Edwards.. Most ppl thought Rod Gardner was a can't miss WR also Just Saying Report: Titus Young only a third-rounder on “most” draft boards | ProFootballTalk (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/03/18/report-titus-young-only-a-third-rounder-on-most-draft-boards/) Young is a guy I'd like to look at maybe in the 2nd skinsfaninok 03-18-2011, 09:23 PM NFL Draft: Blaine Gabbert vs. Cam Newton (http://www.stltoday.com/sports/football/professional/article_8b99c8ce-50e8-11e0-92c8-0017a4a78c22.html) Dirtbag59 03-18-2011, 09:32 PM I agree but how often does a CJ come around? Not much especially in the top 10.. Ask SF how Crabtree is working out? Or Cleveland with Edwards.. Most ppl thought Rod Gardner was a can't miss WR also Just Saying Rod Gardner and AJ Green aren't even close in terms of value coming into the draft. Gardner came into his draft with a mid first round grade, scouts on the other hand regard Green as possibly the safest pick in the draft. Green is getting the same top 5 draft grades that we've seen in the past from guys like Charles Rogers, Calvin Johnson, Andre Johnson, Crabtree, and Fitzgerald. Obviously out of that group only one has turned into a bust, and the other one could still go either way. Still the thing that Green has in common with Calvin, Andre, and Fitz is that like those three he has a good head on his shoulders. Rogers and consequently Crabtree are both head cases Of course it's probably a moot point as Green will most likely be gone by the time we pick. My money's on Cleveland. So if AJ Green is there at 10 you would pass ?? Cmon man. You bet. Gotta feed the front. There will be difference-makers like Quinn left. Dirtbag59 03-18-2011, 10:00 PM You bet. Gotta feed the front. There will be difference-makers like Quinn left. While I agree with the sentiment of building with the lines I still don't think you pass up someone like Green who has that combination of skill, smarts, and work ethic. Quinn will be good but I like to look at it this way. In 5 years would you have a better chance of convincing a team to trade Quinn for Green or Green for Quinn. Personally I think Green will be the type of player where you wouldn't even be able to offer up Orakpo and get him in a straight up trade. |
