Would Claussen be a good fit for the Redskins, if Carolina decides to trade him instead of drafting a QB in the draft? He has a year's experience in the NFL which gives him a head start every rookie except Luck. Any thoughts?
I would take Claussen if it's at a firesale price but I would not trade anywhere near the 2nd round pick they spent on him.

McNabb & Haynesworth are worth nothing to Carolina. It will take lots of draft picks to get their attention. Based on the draft value chart which is outdated but still a decent guideline, all the draft picks you mention would still leave us a couple hundred points short of the 3000 points that the #1 overall pick is worth. And if luck is as good as advertised then you will need to go above the 3000 points to get their attention.
I guess it's a moot point, Carolina should draft him.

Probably wouldn't have to worry about that, his trade value is probably next to nothing.

Now I kinda wish we went 2-14 LOL Oh well
I never wanted Clausen in WSH, go with Grossman if thats the case..
BTW Denver wants a 2nd for Orton
Yeah that's not gonna happen considering he's due over $8M next year.

Do you think he could be better or equal to what is coming out of college with the exception of Luck?

Actually someone made a good comment below that article. They said why would CAR say anything different and devalue that pick. Of course they are going to say that they might get someone desperate enough to give them the farm.

Makes sense, since the guy is earning such rave reviews. I think the possibility of them trading out of that pick makes sense too. It will cost them big $ to sign the #1 pick & a head coach, and I'm sure they'd like to have some picks to build on.
What's scary is the team w/the most ammo to do it is New England. They could package a no. of 1st day picks & draft Luck to groom him to replace Brady. That kind of trade would be out of character for NE, but finding a replacement for Brady wouldn't be.

Clausen isn't accurate and doesn't have a big arm.. NO he's not better than Mallett or maybe even Gabbert

Not really, what matt just said is 100% correct. The Panthers want the whole league to think they are drafting Luck regardless. If they say they are building around Claussen then the Luck trade market begins at #2 instead of #1. No way they let another team have that windfall. Luck will be #1 overall either to Carolina or whoever pays the price.
