Sigh I know. Every year at this time though I'm reminded of how great Kiper is. I'm talking about off-camera. He's probably my favorite NFL insider at work, as far as the type of guy he is. If every insider was like him, we'd all work for free (well not exactly, but we'd love the work)

I like watching Kiper, draft wouldnt be the same without him. SS, any rivalry between him and McShay?

Like a real rivalry? No, they get along fine. I really don't know anyone who can't and doesn't get along with Kiper. Some of the insiders are difficult to deal with, Kiper's easy

I think that Mel Kiper's hair is actually the brains behind the man, Mel Kiper the man is just a vehicle for the hair. LOL.

I've been listening to the First Draft Podcast for the past month and the "rivalary" that seemed to be there two or three years ago, assuming there was any animosity in the first place, seems to be gone. In fact, if anything they seem to have developed a lot of chemistry since McShay first appeared on the scene.

It would be great though if the ESPN guys gave their actual draft guys a little bit more air time this year because last years ESPN draft coverage they had way to many people on set, and eventually it just kept feeling like no one had time to complete a sentence. Which is amazing considering how much down time you get during an even like the NFL Draft.

It might just start with replacing Berman, because I think part of the reason I liked NFLN's coverage last year came from the way Eisen directed the conversation. I'll still check in on the ESPN coverage and see if it's back to where it was in 2008 but for the most part I expect most of the time I'll be watching things unfold on NFLN.

Okay, now I remember a little more about why Kiper and McShay got less air time last year. You'd start off with the pick and Berman would usually go straight to Jackson, then Kiper would go off for a couple of seconds during the highlight, Young would throw in a word or two, then you had to get to Gruden, then you bring in Schefter, then Mort gives his take and vice versa, then Kobler has to interview the prospect and then you go to Wingo in the studio with Edwards and Bruschi. And I think Dilfer's in there some where. At some point they'll go to one of the local on site reporters, usually Sal Pal. Then back to Mort for more inside information on possible trades.

So much talent at ESPN, but I just don't think theres enough air time to properly show case it, even with an event that drags on like the draft.

KI Skins Fan,

I know I mentioned DL but I was told a pass rushing LB. Funny to me it's LB or DE who is a hybrid LB. So because of that I simply said DL but that also left open NT.
