Locker is a talent worth rolling the dice on. The payoff could be huge with him. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we took him at #10.

Really starting to look now like Quinn won't be there at #10. DaQuan Bowers' injury kind of screwed us. So we'll likely look to trade down and possibly pick up Locker there. Though I'm not sure he's the top choice. Our best bet right now is a trade down with the Rams at 14. Though they may screw us by trading to 9 with the Cowboys. I don't think Minnesota is taking a QB in the first round (not at 12 at least) so I'm not concerned with dropping to 14 and risking missing out on another QB. One week to go! Can't wait! I might actually get to sit in a war room next weekend! MTK 04-21-2011, 12:10 PM Really starting to look now like Quinn won't be there at #10. DaQuan Bowers' injury kind of screwed us. That's cool on the war room, which team or can't you say? celts32 04-21-2011, 12:11 PM Really starting to look now like Quinn won't be there at #10. DaQuan Bowers' injury kind of screwed us. BigHairedAristocrat 04-21-2011, 12:13 PM Locker is a talent worth rolling the dice on. The payoff could be huge with him. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we took him at #10. I think I remember reading somewhere that the three best indicators of a college qbs performance after transitioning to The NFL are games started, winning percentage, and completion percentage. Lockers got the starts but his lost twice as many games as he won and his completion percentage last year was barely above 50%. Locker is NOT worth rolling the dice on at ten. If we traded down and picked him up between 25 and 32, maybe. But not at ten. This team has far too many needs to roll the dice on a high draft pick, reguardless of the position Chico23231 04-21-2011, 12:27 PM I won't feel screwed...I hope Quinn is not there. QB at #10 or a trade down...thats what I want. Agreed, blessing in disguise. But I surely wouldnt count out Minnesota not taking Locker at there first pick if that is who Shanny wants. I would be cool with this as well. Would love to trade down and get him, but if that isn't an option....go for it! This team has far too many needs to roll the dice on a high draft pick, reguardless of the position You mean this? http://www.thewarpath.net/nfl-draft-central/42086-26-27-60-qb-formula.html The formula has some merit but there are certainly exceptions to the rule and other factors that have to be considered more than these 3 categories. Considering Shanny liked him enough last year where he would have considered taking him at #4, taking him at #10 this year shouldn't be ruled out or come as a surprise if it happens. Son Of Man 04-21-2011, 12:44 PM I come away impressed with Locker in every interview (NFL Total Access, QB Camp, Combine) and thr Year of the QB show. I also feel comfortable with the guy's parents and community support in his hometown. A real tell-tale sign, for me, about Locker's character is the manner in which his college teammates seemed to hold him in high regard. He looks like their undisputed and loved leader, that is an honor that is earned through the work one puts into their craft. Say what you want about his decision to go back to school, it takes a guy with character (and good family support) to bypass the pros and finish your college career (especially for the reasons he gave). The QB position appears to be one of the hardest to scout in all of pro sports. And there is a definate risk in drafting one in the first round. But if I had to choose a guy to take a risk on, Locker's skill set and intangibles make me comfortable as a fan of the B&G. I hope he is our QB of the future. Dirtbag59 04-21-2011, 01:07 PM Jake Locker: Mayock, Gruden say Locker fits Redskins Jake Locker - QB - CLG - Apr. 21 - 9:38 am et NFL Network's Mike Mayock and ESPN's Jon Gruden agree that Washington QB Jake Locker is a good fit for the Redskins' offense. NFLN's Mike Lombardi is in this same boat as the idea of Locker going 10th gains steam a week before the draft. "Locker likes getting out on the edge and he’s mostly accurate off play-action rolling out," Mayock said. "That’s what Mike Shanahan’s scheme is. ... If (Locker) has a chance to play early and play effectively, I think that’s the kind of system he’s set up for." Apr. 21 - 9:38 am et Source: Washington Post |
