Seems like it's a pretty good deal then, no? Funny how everyone was ready to pile on this deal and to believe that we GUARANTEED DMac Brady-style money.

I guess we deserve that with all we've done in the Snyder era, but to hear Gruden and co. bring up Jeff George et al. last night was just more salt in the wounds.

McNabb is no savior, but he's a decent vet. And he's not anywhere near our most serious problem at this point. O-line, WR, RB, a front seven that can play the 3-4, etc. seem more pressing to me. Whatever.

I am getting tired of being kicked in the nuts by this team year after year. Guess that's the price of being a skins fan!

Exactly. And right now, that's as good as it's going to get for us.

For everybody who's ready to throw McNabb out to the curb, who do you want? Give me a free agent who's available for 2011 that you'd rather have. Yes, we need to rebuild. I've said that all along. And assuming we have a shot at either of Andrew Luck or Jake Locker (remember the Skins always seem to do just well enough to put themselves out of contention for the blue-chip draft choice), it might not be until 2015 before you know if have a franchise QB.

If the standings end with the Buffalo being the worst team and the 49ers with a worse record than ours, then neither Locker or Luck will be available. Both would go to those teams, especially if the 49ers hire Harbaugh which would be an awesome hire for them.

Do you really think SF is going to hire a college coach? What if Troy Smith keeps playing lights out the rest of the year?

As of right now, Harbaugh isn't interested in the Niners job if it became available

I'd probably take Christian Ponder in the 2nd round if he was there

Harbaugh is the best coach available, forget Cowher, Gruden, etc. Yes, the talk around here is Harbaugh would be hired over those others. Trust me, he is the real deal, has 15 years NFL experience as QB, his dad was a coach, his brother coaches the Ravens. I wish we would hired him and cleaned house.

49ers may have something with Troy Smith -- he's been named the starter and has looked pretty good, plus they might squeeze out some more wins before its all over. Buffalo, no question will take whichever QB comes out on top. Carolina will likely have a high pick, and they'll need a QB too.

What about giving Claussen a chance? It's only his rookie year.

Oops, you're right -- forget about Claussen. So toss out Carolina and throw in Dallas. They should be in contention... Hell, maybe even Minnesota could pick that high if things continue to go south. Arizona too...

Well Carolina will likely have a new coach next year, so unless Clausen impresses the new regime he won't be there for long.
