I just wanted to take a minute and wish good luck to Chad Pennington, who was sadly injured today during his second play since taking over the Dolphins starting QB Job.

I was hoping that Pennington would find his groove again like he did in 2008, but sadly it was not to be. Pennington suffered another injury to his throwing shoulder, and with the prospect of a 4th major surgery being needed, the Dolphins already are preparing that he is done for the year and possibly done as an NFL Player.

Chad was always a class act in the league, and a good role model and mentor to young players. I hope he finds a job in the NFL somewhere, probably not as a player, but maybe as a QB coach or something like that...

Thank you Chad Pennington for a great career, and being a great comeback story, twice winning the NFL's comeback player of the year award. Best Wishes to you for your future.

Do you know that he's done for sure? I thought he'd be done after the 2nd time but he has proven that you can't count him out until he says he's done. I'll wait to hear it from his mouth before I believe it because I know from all the vets that have trouble letting go of the game that you can never really count them out.

Either way best wishes to him. Man's been a trooper for a while and he's always shown a nice resiliency when the chips are down.

Good luck to Pennington. I think that this injury opens the door for Thigpen, who I think is the best QB on the team and he will prove it. Thigpen is very under rated.

Did he always have such a weak throwing arm? Or was that related to injuries during his NFL career?

Yup always, he was very accurate but couldn't pass 35 or 40 yards.

Solid guy who has had a respectable career. Crazy to think he was throwing to Randy Moss way back in the day

I rememember back in 2003 or 2004 he seemed to have an above average arm, but each subsequent shoulder surgery hurt his arm strength. After 4 surgeries, his arm may not be sturdy enough to survive NFL duty....

They did a feature on him on NFL Network yesterday and said he got like $200k (maybe more more) for every start he made this year for the Dolphins. That really sucks!

Sadly, he had just entered into the incentive part of his contract, being that he was named Miami's starter. The two plays that he lasted as starter, he got paid 3 million dollars for each snap.

He's obviously done for the year, but i wonder if they try to get back any money in the form of an injury settlement or something.
