Monkeydad 11-04-2010, 11:21 AM Why do you think the team showed little or no interest in obtaining his services?
The same reason 31 other teams passed on him. Tennessee was the only team to put in a waiver claim.
He takes more plays off than not. He has talent but is lazy on the field and doesn't use it most plays. He has a mouth without an off-button. Criminal record. The list goes on.
He's a VERY HIGH RISK, little chance of big reward guy. Could he win you games? Absolutely? Could he ruin your season? More than likely.
Tennessee is desperate, their only really productive WR is injured. Nate Washington can't carry the load himself. They're still in contention but in an extremely tough division with Indy, Houston and a Jags team that shows up for big games (only).
Sure we could use a WR and if he was picked up by the team, I'd be excited for his POTENTIAL and the attention he'd draw from our opponents' defenses, freeing up our better Moss for even more success. Fletcher would have to work hard to keep him in line and odds are, with Shanahan's no-nonsense approach, things would go south by the end of the year.
CRedskinsRule 11-04-2010, 11:29 AM I voted yes. I rued when we passed on him. But seriously, is it the end of the Skins season? I doubt it. Shanahan and Allen both have said that they have a plan in place. I don't imagine that included Moss being waived 2 times in one year. Could they have altered their plan sure, but is it a must do? Apparently not for us or 20 other teams in the league.
I am done rueing, but can't yet say I am thrilled we didn't take him. For me it's a bummer, but Let's Go Skins!

It would be very hard for anyone who has observed Moss closely over the years to disagree with your assertion. Talented but problematic.
SirClintonPortis 11-04-2010, 11:50 AM Tennessee could care less if he scored 0 touchdowns. They(and Chris Johnson fantasy owners) just needed someone to open things up for Chris Johnson.

Absolutely still talented, just look at that one-handed TD catch on Revis this year. I've never seen anyone catch a ball like that before, it was incredible.
However, that was probably one of just a handful of plays he actually put any effort in.

EARTHQUAKE2689 11-04-2010, 12:18 PM McNabb has not been all that accurate on his deep throws this year, Armstrong and Moss have both done excellent jobs adjusting to passes
If not for turnovers we'd be 2-6 is like saying if Blackwood doesn't slip and fail to tackle Riggins we lose SB XVII. Blackwood didn't tackle Riggins and we did get turnovers. Why? Because Riggo stiff-armed Blackwood and we made plays to get the ball. These things weren't accidents that were gift-wrapped to us. Give our guys some credit. And stop calling it luck
Randy Moss wouldn't have really done much for our OL woes, and nothing for our run defense
Randy Moss is most likely a sure-fire 1st ballot HOF, but this isn't 2002. Where he'll be 5 years after he retires has nothing to do with what he can contribute now
And on and on...
It's amazing what logic does for you.

Meanwhile back in Cinci, T.O. is quietly racking up talented TD's of his own. And no drama I might add. YouTube - Week 8 2010 - Terrell Owen's Halloween Gift

None in Cinci, but he did take a shot at McNabb on the TOcho Show this week

My point is we are fine without T.O. We are fine without Moss. Both of them are great talented receivers. We had a shot at both of them and passed. I don't think it really matters in the big picture of things as far as the Skins future is concerned.
Everyone was against T.O. because they were scared of the locker room distractions. Moss fills the same argument IMO.
It would have been fun and exciting to have either on our team IMO. But neither is a make or break for the Skins. At this point I think the best we can hope for at this point is that DM comes back on fire and that he and Shanny really have "put things behind them".
