Hey guys, Lions fan here from the Lions fan site.
I know many of you think this is a walkover game of sorts, and some don't, but this is not the same team.
Case in point-
1) Shoulda won the Bears game. It was a catch, pure and simple.
2) Name a blowout this year or walkover? This team has been playing much better football and everyone of our games came down to a possession or two. The last few years, the game only mattered in the first or second possession as we were down by 14 with 11 minutes left in the first usually.
3) The talent - Suh is a beast and VandenBosch has brought good leadership. As a matter of fact, quick, how many starters from last year's game on our Defense our starting tomorrow? The answer - 4. Avril, Delmas, Levy, Peterson.
4) This team is young and is going to lose its share of close games but how can you guys only score 17 against the Bears with 6 turnovers?
5) We're 1-5. We used our starter for half a game, our backup for 5 games and our 3rd stringer for half a game.
6) I'm not comparing your loss to St. Louis and our win. Any given Sunday rule in effect. You guys had a bad game, we had an awesome game.
Lastly, was out with my wife last night for dinner and there were 3 tables of Redskins fans at a restaurant about 30 minutes outside of Detroit. Had a enjoyable banter with them back and forth. Nice peeps, from the Virginia area in town for the game. Good luck today and good luck with the rest of the season. At least, one thing we will agree with today - the Cowboys are REALLY, REALLY going to suck this year!
Greetings and welcome to the forum LK. I would be surprised if you found anybody on this forum who considers this anything but a tough game. Good points all, and you are correct. This is not the same Lions squad. They are definately doing the right things.
GOOD luck to you and the Lions on every other day than ...this day.

Sounds like a bunch of excuses -- don't mean to sound rude but at the end of the day, you have to make plays, not excuses.
Here's one -- you have Calvin Johnson!!! arguably in the top 3 wide receivers in the league, we have nothing, squat at receiver. It is so bad that we had to let an underperformer go because he was doing even less than the last few years he's been here. Our current running backs were pulled from the practice squad. Our #2 and #3 receiver are 38 and played in the Intense Football league respectively. We have a completely new coaching staff, new offense, new defense, new QB -- everything is new AND WE ARE 4-3. By rights we shouldn't be doing this well but we are because despite all these issues, we have found ways to win, the Lions haven't and that's what matters in the NFL.

whoah. Not to descredit the "you are what your record is" statement, but the Redskins could easily be at 2-5. They are winning close games, but the lions have played in a lot of close games. If the redskisn fire on all cylinders, I think it's going to be a blow out, but the lions have some things that can cause us problems as we have some things that can mess with their schemes. I still think it's going down to the wire.

Sorry but by the NFL rules that was not a catch and most agreed with the ruling on the field. Until the rule is changed it not a catch pure and simple.
Sorry but the Lions are going to get a :spank: today.
44ever 10-31-2010, 06:34 PM Skins should win this one. BUT, Skins will lose this one
Easy to predict this one guys.

You had us losing to the Eagles and to the Packers

I still say we would have lost the Eagles game had Vick stayed in. But, I admit I was dead wrong in GB. Skins played way above my expectations that day. They still tend to play up to their opponents potential it seems. That partly is why I called the Lions game a loss.
They are slowly convinsing me they are becoming a NFL quality team. I just fear the QB position and hope Shanny has a open mind in this area. I'm sure he does.
mooby 10-31-2010, 07:22 PM I wish we had seen what the Lions record was if they had played with Stafford these past 5 weeks. Something tells me now that he is back in they will win more games this season.
