When Hunter Smith was punting out of bounds away from Hester, did anyone else think the officials were being a little ridiculous with their spots? It was almost like they were deliberately penalizing the Skins for not punting to him. Seriously, the officials were running sometimes 15 or 20 yards away from where the ball appeared to go out of bounds.

McNabb was bad but he wasn't Cutler-horrible. He made some nice throws. Had Armstrong not dropped that wide open deep pass we might be talking about a different game. Our Oline was horrible and didn't give him much time and i think he got a little jumpy. W/ a better...decent oline McNabb will play alot better.

Worst was McNabb seeming to panic in the pocket
Best (aside from Hall) was watching Orakpo cause HAVIC and chase down Cutler

The spots seemed generous but it's tough to see where exactly the ball goes out on TV.

He's not even close to Brunell like. And when you spend 11 years in one system it does take a while to get it going. If you are right-handed and all of a sudden I tell u to write with ur left, you wont be scoring A's in penmanship right off the bat are you?
The Eagles offense was not that different from the offense McNabb is running now, so it really isn't a system thing. Donovan has been missing some wide open receivers.
Of course he has also been having a lot of his on target passes dropped as well. It is just going to take time.

Well, I think the system reason has some merit to mis-timing and missed reads, but Donovan has had his bad side show up and missed some easy ones. Hell, even Jason Campbell could hit Zach Miller right on the money for the touchdown on a play very similar to the one to Davis, even if Hue Jackson had a completely different terminology that Shanahan's.

There are probably similarities but overall more is probably different than not. The verbiage is different and so are the protections. Reid runs a more pure west coast offense with 3 step drops based on timing, get the ball out quick. Shanahan's system runs more off play action, with more 5-7 step drops.

Im not really buying the "get use to the system" excuse right now with McNabb. He is a pro bowler, vetern QB who is not a stupid guy. We are 6 games into the season and he understands the basic concepts of a west coast offense he learned in Philly.
He flat out missed the end blitzer on the pick six, that was clearly on him and unexcusable. He missed bad on probably 10 throws. Couple people dropped very catchable balls, that didnt help.
I understand the "he will have games like these every now and then" but this is now 2 weeks in row where he has played pretty poor.

I give my game ball to Cutler, he did his utmost to help the Skins win. Its obvious the Bears have hitched their wagon to the wrong QB.
Cutler has a natural affinity for Shanahan. Hall immediately texed him a thank you for making him defensive player of the week.

McNabb has always been hit or miss. When we traded for him my brother in law told me I would love him but he would drive me crazy because of his tendencies to miss wide open receivers. To this point he was totally correct, I liek him extending plays and pushing the ball down the field, I hate him missing open WRs 10 yards down the field.
Oh well it is far better than having JC and at least we are fun to watch again! I'd watch these games just to watch Orakpo he's quickly becoming my favorite NFL'er
