I'd give Gano a very committed second chance next year. He has a lot of promise but he needs to deliver with it. Bring in a serious competitor with experience and make him show in training camp he can handle the pressure. It'd be nice too if they could get him a holder and keep him. Switching up mid-year probably wasn't helpful.

Couldn't we say that about anyone who makes it into the NFL? The only thing he has done this year to impress me was making to kicks in overtime. Problem is that I think the only reason we were in overtime was because he had missed a kick.

Redskins Insider - Graham Gano says misses are a matter of technique (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/graham-gano/graham-gano-says-misses-are-a.html)

Gano seems to think it's a matter of technique that can be corrected.

He's hardly going to say:
"The misses are because I am not good enough to be a starting kicker"

Well the suggestion was made that it might be mental, but he thinks it's mechanics. It's obvious the talent is there.

Sure, he's got a big leg, and you don't make it to this level without having some skills.

Technique my arse!

He looks like hes shaking like a hound dog crapping a peach seed every time he lines up to kick a fg or extra point for that matter. I probably would be to though, but geeze louise make a fg crying out loud! Confidence is all he needs

Even though he has ticked me off big time more often than not, I would like to see how Gano performs when he isn't afraid of every snap being the one that leads to a botched FG. If he can't perform with a better holder, he better be packing his bags.

I like Gano. I believe if given the chance, he will become a solid kicker for us. He does have the skills and the leg. What he needs is time. Also the microscope gets stronger when so many games are so close and go into OT.

Or we can release him and watch him win games for another team while complaining about how Gano is so much better than our "current" kicker.

I just want an effing kicker who doesnt lead the league in effing field goal misses. I dont think im asking too much....lord look at the last 3 years of our poor kicking preformances, its cost us conservatively 5+ games. Anyone to say improvement is not needed is completely assine

I'm so sick and tired of hearing that. Gano flat out sucks. How many under 30 yard FG does he have to miss? If a FG kicker causes everyone to sit on pens and needles for kicks under 30 yds, he needs to go.
