Well, why didn't he put him in then? No matter what Shanny thinks of AH, he is a $100 million asset that needs to be used. I feel a trade is in the works and AH will be used sparingly if at all. Shanahan can say all he wants, talk is cheap. Until I see AH used extensively, I will stand by my thoughts that he is being sit out since he is bait.
A trade is in the works? The trade deadline was Tuesday. He can't be traded until the offseason now. He is with this team for the rest of the year, minimum. End of story.

Brandon Banks finally breaks a big one for a TD in the punt game, and it would be a great act of football magic to do it in the kickoff game as well. Just to let Chicago know they arent the only one with a return burner in the league.
To be honest I think we give up yards again, but get key turnovers and few sacks.
One thing that scares me about this game. The national media is all over us winning. I dont like that. It is never a good sign when everyone thinks we can win. We have to prove it now that we are a good team and getting a win in Chicago would be a big step in that direction.

I know sometimes fans get over confident but Im sure Shanny has our team prepared for a tough road game. The Bears have 1 of the better all around RB's in the league in Matt Forte so Im sure they are going to try and run the ball on us like most other teams have. With that said if we don't stop the run game then dont even think we are going to get alot of sacks on Cutler. It seems like we give up at least 1 big run a game on defense. I just hope on offense we can run the ball and score 7 points instead of FG's. Our offense must start fast and get a lead on the Bears which will force them to abandon the run early. We have not played 4 complete qrts this season so lets hope we will get a complete game from the Redskins on the road. We win the turnover battle we have a great chance to come out with a victory. I think the key for us will be sustaining drives more than causing turnovers and sacks (which I suspect we will do). But if we cannot do anything once we get the ball, we leave ourselves open to Forte trying to grind us down and keep our D on the field for a long time. To sustain drives, we need to get something going on the ground to set up the pass (esp. play action), and that will reuqire Torain to play with more discipline than last week. Against the Colts, he was solid, but tried too often to bounce outside the tackles and go for longer yardage, usually to the opposite effect. Had he stayed with his blockers, he likely would have been more effective. If he does that, I think we can keep the chains moving on offense.
An early lead will be key. We need to get out in front and force the Bears to throw. If we do, we could have a great day. If they do, they can pressure McNabb and try to grind us down with Forte, which has to me their strategy.
While no one should take the Bears lightly, we should win this game and I think we will. It would be nice to having a convincing win for a change, but I will take an ugly one at this point. I predict 22-16 Skins (we get a safety).
Agree. He left a lot of yards out there, and maybe we win against the Colts otherwise. I'm sure Shanahan called him out on that this week. It will be interesting to see how he plays this week.

Offseason my friend. They will bench AH for pretty much the whole season, or they will use him sparingly. They want those draft picks badly and he is the only one that would garner extra picks. I know they can't trade him in 2010, but 2011 after the Pro Bowl they will be on the phone trying to set something up for draft 2011.

I am a gambler, and I think he is trade bait unless you see him used extensively tomorrow and throughout the season. THere is no excuse not to. If AH still has an attitude Shanny is going to keep him on the bench and trade him just before the draft or during the draft for picks.
