I have to go to the Ravens-Bills game this Sunday at 1 pm. Have = i tried my dandest to get out of it but apparently my offhand comment months ago that "it'd be nice to go to a game at M&T Bank, I heard theres not a bad seat in the house" meant "hunny, when the 1st opportunity arisies can you buy ravens tickets at face value for a regular season game at the same time the skins game is on and even though we are buying a house and we agreed not to make any purchases more than a $10 sandwhich without agreeing on it first, just go ahead and drop $160".

My problems with going to the game are many:
1) we are supposed to be saving money
2) we already paid $160 for 2 tickets but the way we drink (and tip our local tenders) its going to be $300 when all said and done
3) the freakin skins game is on at 1 pm
4) im not a freakin ravens fan, thoo i do "not hate them" i dont want to spend money on them

but the real problem is

I love drinking, partying, tailgating, bar hopping, and we are going to tailgate with a bunch of ravens fans. for me to have the most fun and to maximize our dollar, im going to have to embrace this thing. I mean like wear something purple embrace.

its going to be lame if i wear regular clothes, then people are going to be like "what are you a bills fan?" or feel left out of the whole pregame tailgate which i love. ive tried convincing my lady for us to wear blue and red for the bils but shes not havin it. she wants to have fun, party and tailgate raven style.

so, what do i do?

1) borrow a purple hoodie from a buddy and just drink and try to embrace a raven sunday?

2) just wear neutral colors but try and get into the whole vibe/pregame pump up even though i dont have a dog in this fight

wearing skins stuff aint happenin, thats always lame and given the treatment i give boys fans at fed ex or yanks fans at camden when we dont play them, its not happening. wearing your teams stuff to a game there not playing is the gayest thing ever. id punch my self.

and i tried convincing her that she should take her best friend who is a big ravens fan and i dont think he has gone to a home game yet, didnt work, she wants to paartay.

what sayeth the mob?

and please keep in mind, im not trying to make a statement at tehgame or anything, just trying to enjoy the sunday as much as possible without crossing over a line of loyalty. i already feel alil bad, i dont know if i can wear a purple hoodie when the moment of truth arises. i mean, WTF am i gonna do, golf clap for both teams the entire game? i dont give 2 shats if ed reed comes back and returns an int, im still not gonna cheer.

Wow, so many issues here. You're going to a Ravens game when the Skins are on? That's a crime.

Second, If you can't wear your colors that's a shame. Any game I've gone to, Skins or not, I always wear my Skins gear. Loud and proud is the only way to go.

So if someone asks you who your team is, what are you gonna say?

If I were you, I'd check out Goodwill stores and go as a Bills fan.

i know, that would be the most fun. i kinda owe bills fans (well atleast one) an apology for the way i treated this one die hard bills fan a few years ago at the game after ST's passing. the end result was i had to wait before exiting my aisle as he was escorted up and i got my second fan infraction warning in the mail via video surveillance.

she has unconditionally shot down any bills colors. she wants to have fun and given my past arrests and staduim lifetime bans, shes probably right, i would get arrested beat up or at the very least make the experience one of survival and not enjoyable.

i like bills fans, them mo fos are die hards.

if someone asks what team, of course the skins then i go into this long diatribe about how when i was young my pop took me to rfk and memorial b/c the ravens didnt exist, yada yada yada. ravens fans never seem to understand this.

Yeah, if it's in Baltimore, you'd definitely be risking your life. :D

They're not as bad as Philly fans, but they're not far behind. They hate everyone for some reason.

New idea = Wear a Cleveland Browns shirt. I was thinking Baltimore Colts, but you can't expect Baltimore fans to be smart enough to tell that from a Bills shirt since they're both blue.

I would never ever wear any other teams colors, it would I imagine feel like tongue kissing another guy.

You are going to a NFL game just wear some low key skins stuff.

This thread is awful, I could never imagine trying to be a fan of another team just to fit in for a tailgate, AWFUL!

I agree with you that I wouldn't wear Skins colors since they play at the same time on Sunday. If the Skins were on a bye or they played in primetime I'd be okay with it.

Personally, if I were stuck in this situation I'd wear like a plain black sweatshirt or a college hoodie of your choice.

Yeah college gear is probably the best call I guess, other than selling the tix and not going of course. :)

If anyone asks, tell them you're a Skins fan and your doing this 'cause your a good husband. If they press the issue, tell them you can't stand the f-ing Ravens and don't understand why Baltimorons are so stupid they hate everything south of the People's Republic of Glen Burnie. That should go over well. :smashfrea

It really grinds my gears when I see someone in a completely unaffiliated jersey at a game. At the Houston game I saw someone walk by in a Bengals jersey. Just wear street clothes. No one cares that you're a fan of a team completely uninvolved today.

Just my personal feelings on the matter. Not saying hide your allegiance, if someone asks say something -- but don't wear something from a random team.
