Fan questionFRPLG 10-20-2010, 08:28 AM sell the tix. Monkeydad 10-20-2010, 10:05 AM ALSO I like to say M&T bank is nice but is not all that, like if you never made it there in your lifetime you be OK. Camden Yards is a great park though. I love going there. ArtMonkDrillz 10-20-2010, 10:31 AM ALSO I like to say M&T bank is nice but is not all that, like if you never made it there in your lifetime you be OK.Agreed. I went to the Terps vs Navy game there earlier this year and it really didn't seem that much different than FedEx now that Danny Boy updated the score boards. Plus, traffic getting out of our parking lot was a huge mess. I like the fact that you can actually go to bars before and after games at M&T, especially if you're not planning a huge tailgate but other than that I just really don't think its all that much better than FedEx. over the mountain 10-20-2010, 11:07 AM The suggestion of wearing a black hoodie or a terps hoddie is a good one. trust me, i tried getting her to sell the tickets with sound logical arguments like we agreed not to buy anything over $10, were closing on a new house in 2 weeks, teh skins play at the same time, were not ravens fans so what are we going to do? golf clap, we are going to end up spending alot more than the 160 the tickets cost b/c we like to drink, the bills suck and you should take your best friend who is a huge ravens fan but has never gone to a home game. she countered with crying and saying she just wanted to surprise me and do something nice for us. she won. thanks for yalls input. it puts me in a weird position that im sure you all can appreciate. really i just want to tailgate, throw the ball around the lot, have fun and watch some live football. mooby 10-21-2010, 03:50 AM I definitely wouldn't wear another team's colors, I don't think that option ever will exist in my playbook. And I agree with Daseal about people wearing other teams' colors to a game, I saw a guy in a Patriots jersey when we played the Saints in '08, and he was acting like a Boston masshole to top it off, walking around the concourse saying the Skins/Saints game didn't matter because the Pats are the best team in the league and I swear I wanted to just punch his lights out and ask why the hell he was there if he's a dumbass Pats fan. So long story short, no other team colors. Wear something neutral, aka average clothes, or college shirt/hoodie of your choice, something that nobody will give a shit about, and if they ask you just tell them you're a Skins fan supporting your wife. And Bills/Ravens? Lollll you better set down $500 because it will take a lot of alcohol to be able to watch that horrendous Bills squad in action. The Ravens will tear that up. And I'm sorry you have to miss the Redskins game for your significant other. I had a similar issue a few years ago when my then gf wanted me to take her shopping on a Skins gameday, and I knew from previous experience she'd want an all day thing. I worked it out with her though, she got a nice spa treatment, I got the Skins game, and spent plenty of time with her afterward since it was her birthday and everything. But occasionally you just gotta make those sacrifices man. At least she likes football. over the mountain 10-21-2010, 10:18 AM yeah but she screams at the tv every freakin play. ive noticed this about women in general, it could be a 2 yard run by the other team and they are screaming "get that f'er!". every time torain unnecessarily bounced a run to the outside she screamed at him. when i lived in san diego, we would go to bars to watch the skins games and my brothers wife would scream at the top of her lungs every freakin play. man it was embarrassing and annoying as hell. Monkeydad 10-21-2010, 03:22 PM Ha, my wife overreacts to plays too. I guess they want to make it look like they're understanding the game and following along. In the end, I'm just glad she tries. It took a few years to get her into football AT ALL and now she's taking me to training camp. I'd say I succeeded. :D BDBohnzie 10-21-2010, 09:19 PM she countered with crying and saying she just wanted to surprise me and do something nice for us. she won. thanks for yalls input. it puts me in a weird position that im sure you all can appreciate. really i just want to tailgate, throw the ball around the lot, have fun and watch some live football. She cheated, for sure. Crying is a low blow. In a situation like this, it's f'ing kryptonite. Bring the earbuds and the radio and listen to Larry, Sonny and Uncle-Sam-Who's-Now-Locked-In-The-Closet-For-Family-Functions (no disrespect meant whatsoever, but he should have been "allowed to retire" at least 2 years ago as it always seems he barely knows where he is half the time during the games. I love me some Sam Huff, but methinks it's time for him to hang up his cleats). mredskins 10-26-2010, 01:18 PM Wow, can't beleive we have not heard a OTM story on this one yet. Come on man! hooskins 10-26-2010, 01:51 PM I guess I am kind of like your wife, in that I say something each play. Now I don't scream, I yell. Screaming is for wimps. Also wear your freaking Skins gear! You are seriously afraid someone will hurt you? Come on. I rock my Skins gear hardcore in Houston and San Antonio whenever im down there for work. In fact when the Cowboys were in San An, for training camp, I was rocking a skins cap, jersey and shorts. There were tons of drunk, stupid, aggressive Cowboys fans. Screw them. |
