How about when it comes to hats? Like would it be ok to wear a Yankees hat to a Skins game?
Fan questionMTK 10-18-2010, 08:50 PM How about when it comes to hats? Like would it be ok to wear a Yankees hat to a Skins game? jdlea 10-19-2010, 08:44 AM It really grinds my gears when I see someone in a completely unaffiliated jersey at a game. At the Houston game I saw someone walk by in a Bengals jersey. Just wear street clothes. No one cares that you're a fan of a team completely uninvolved today. Just my personal feelings on the matter. Not saying hide your allegiance, if someone asks say something -- but don't wear something from a random team. I agree, it seems like they have no knowledge of the game, it comes off like, "Hey, look, I'm wearing dis football jerzee to da football game." OTM: As for going to go the game. I wouldn't recommend wearing a Bills jersey. I had pretty much the worst fan experience of my life going to the Skins-Ravens game last year. I have no problem with giving each other a hard time, but I had a bottle thrown at me and was challenged to a couple of fights with people I hadn't even exchanged 2 words with. I was embarrassed for the team that their fans are that big of a group of d'bags. Honestly, it was a minority, I did have a decent experience with the people around me, but it also wasn't one isolated incident. I say, just suck it up, wear some purple and have fun. I've been twice, the other time I borrowed a Ray Lewis jersey and had a decent time. MTK 10-19-2010, 08:51 AM Seems a little lame to pretend to be a fan of another team. But if that's what the fashion police say so be it. In the end I say wear what you want, the fact that we're even having this discussion is a little silly. I have some friends that swear you shouldn't wear a band's t-shirt to their show, and you also shouldn't wear another band's shirt, I'm like who F'ing cares. firstdown 10-19-2010, 11:32 AM I can't believe someone would even think about wearing another teams colors for any reason other then loosing a bet. Go to the game in street cloths. If your hunny is not a Raven or Bills fan I'd sell the dam tickets and explain to her that your a skins fan. Then use the old guilt trip about how you cannot enjoy the game knowing you should be saving the $300 for your new house. Then re-explain your a skins fan. jdlea 10-19-2010, 12:32 PM I always find people who won't wear another team's jersey/colors ridiculous. I happen to like other teams, but I don't like any of them as much as the Skins. I own a Chad Ochocinco jersey and a Reggie Bush jersey. I've owned others, I just don't buy as many jerseys now. Personally, there are players I like on the Ravens, I also just enjoy football, so I was able to take off my Redskins hat for a few hours for one of my friends who wanted to enjoy a Ravens game. BDBohnzie 10-19-2010, 12:50 PM Wear street clothes and tailgate your ass off. Tell them you're allergic to purple because burgundy and gold runs through your veins. I wore my black Redskins coaches cap to a Steelers/Ravens game several years ago. They left me alone because the Steelers were in town. I would imagine as long as you don't wear blue and red, you won't get messed with. mredskins 10-19-2010, 01:05 PM Wear street clothes and tailgate your ass off. That is what I wear when I want to be low key as well. firstdown 10-19-2010, 05:05 PM I always find people who won't wear another team's jersey/colors ridiculous. I don't have a problem with that but he did not mention that he was a fan of either team. When I don't care about who wins a game I try to get a friendly small bet going so then I have a reason to care. Its just my way of making it interesting and fun. I can also just enjoy a very good game. Monkeydad 10-19-2010, 05:32 PM I don't have a problem with that but he did not mention that he was a fan of either team. I say get out of it, save the money for the house OR a Skins game. mredskins 10-20-2010, 08:17 AM So can I but this game involves the Bills. ALSO I like to say M&T bank is nice but is not all that, like if you never made it there in your lifetime you be OK. |
