SmootSmack 10-12-2010, 10:33 AM I.......don't
Bob Slater, Tory Nixon, Walter Murray, Wally Kleine, Raphel Cherry, Carl Powell, Andre Johnson (granted he was post Gibbs 1 but during Casserly)...
dgack 10-12-2010, 11:18 AM I am an unabashed St. Gibbs fan, but why does he get all the credit for the draft gems during the first campaign? It's like people forgot how absolutely amazing Bobby Beathard was.
Ruhskins 10-12-2010, 11:23 AM I was disgusted yesterday listening to the Sports Reporter and how they were just straight out bitching about DT being cut and saying how DT gets cut but AH gets "coddled".
I wish DT luck, Carolina is just not a good team and they need to go into major rebuilding mode.

Had DT made a name for himself as a major player in this league with any kind of trade value, I think we would have coddled him as well. Unfortunately most unproven wideouts are like lottery scratch-offs.

Agreed. I mean the comparison was just stupid, even one of the other guys in that show was saying how it was ridiculous to say that AH was "coddled" let alone bringing Haynesworth into the conversation. I swear, they just bring him up for no f'ing reason. Ugh, I hate that show!! (yeah yeah, I don't know why I even turned it on).
BDBohnzie 10-12-2010, 11:46 AM Devin Thomas is either going to sink or swim in Carolina, nothing in between. They have no choice but to throw him out there and use his talent in making plays. This is a desperate signing for a desperate team. They have no names in their receiver corps aside from Steve Smith, who is questionable for Week 7 as it is. And to top it off, they have 2 inept quarterbacks, and if Tony Pike gets any snaps during the bye week, he could be starting come Week 7.
Devin Thomas was given plenty of chances here in Washington to establish himself. He rubbed Shanny the wrong way and never got out of the doghouse. He could very well be another stud receiver that the Redskins blew their chance on. However, considering no one (The Pats traded back for Deion Branch for pete's sake) wanted to take a chance on him, I don't see it happening that way.
diehard 10-12-2010, 11:55 AM Well, at least Thomas will be closer to his honeybun Fantasia.
Monkeydad 10-12-2010, 12:14 PM Not sure about that. Thomas isn't carrying 2 DWIs with him
As far as wasted potential, Jarrett and Thomas are likely very similar ON the field.

Actually, from what I understand, the Patriots had put in a claim for D.Thomas, but Carolina had dibs on claiming him 1st.
In other words...If he wasn't playing for Carolina,he would be a Patriot now...
Then the Patriots went a head and traded for Branch for the 4th round pick.
