Wonder if that was real interest in DT or the Colts trying to get a slim advantage over us with picking up an ex disgruntled player?

This is a great point...but the advantage isn't the fact that he may be disgruntled...it's that he knows our offensive playbook

...OOPS...nevermind....we are talking about Devin Thomas.

Garcon and Gonzalez hurt...they do need another WR. They have only Wayne and Collie right now.

We have the coach we have desperately needed for years, even during the Gibbs II era (and it really pains me to say that!)

Not sure I agree with that yet.
Lets see Shanny make the playoffs with McNabb twice in 4 years to match what Gibbs did with a mediocre Brunell and a career backup in Collins first.
I think we all should take a look back and appreciate what Gibbs did with so little....it's not like he was not handed a team in shambles either.
It is a very comparable situation....it just people thought Gibbs would definately get us to the Superbowl in 1-2 years and folks are just looking for playoffs in 1-2 years with Shanny....and merely hoping for a Superbowl appearance under his reign.

These coaches are very similar...the primary difference is that Gibbs finds a way to motivate his problem children, (portis, manley, riggo) whereas Shanny cuts them because he generally alienates them.

Question...who would you rather fight for in a game? Gibbs...a guy that would do the same for you, or Shanny...because his said so?

I hope you are right and Shanny outperforms Gibbs 2.0....heck even Gibbs 1.0
But that would mean 4 superbowls in 11 years winning 3 of them. Good luck with that!

Gotta disagree here. Gibbs 2.0 was entirely too conservative and honestly, it seemed like his scheme was behind the times. That was made up for by the fact that he is a peerless motivator. Shanahans have our offense moving the ball through the air in ways we never seemed to do during Gibbs 2. (through 5 games anyway...)

i hear what you are saying, but after watching last season and this preseason and these first 5 games your telling me that devin thomas could not help this team more than joey galloway or roydell williams?? i have a serious issue with that, if anyone player would be the one to get the ax as of right now it should be williams, shit williams cost us about 20 yards yesterday when he made a block in that back about 10 yards behind banks.

my whole problem with this is he was never given a chance. you could see the hunger in him every time he touched the feild with special teams, i just don't know why he wasn't given an opportunity to get in there with the offense.
I am sure I could have quoted several different people. For those curious how DT is doing with the Panthers:

It's the Jonathan Stewart show. @daringantt Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams, WR Devin Thomas, OT Jeff Otah didn't travel to St. Louis.
