There really isn't a dominant division in the NFC this season. The Vikes are 1-3, and you have a bunch of 2-2 teams in the other divisions. The south has the Saints and the Hawks, but both can be had. The north has the Pack and Vikes, but they don't looks so hot and are banged up. IF Moss can really help Favre light it up I will give them the NFC title nod, but they have weapons without Moss coming to town so go figure. The entire NFC West sucks, but what is new. The East is up for grabs, with a bunch of talented teams that don't seem to be able to play consistent ball.

I think it's really funny that people think we can win the East with the 31st ranked defense -- thinking that we will win at this point is really premature

IMO, this statistic is VERY misleading. Despite the yardage or points we may have given up, the talent and coaching of this defense do not lead me to believe we are one of the worst defenses in the league. I would rate our defense in the top 15 at least, and I think as the season continues, the skins will show just how good the defense is.

I don't think people are trying to say we are going to win the east, they're just saying that, given the 4 teams' performances during the first quarter of the season, the East is wide open, and that it wouldn't be completely shocking if the skins did come out on top.

I really think 10-6 wins the East for sure. Dallas is the only team that could challenge us for the division title. Giants, eh. Philly is good, but hey, didn't we just beat them? I guess you would never by some of the comments here. I can gurarantee you Mike Vick won't be shooting down the middle the next time he plays the Skins. Oh wait, we beat Dallas too, but then there was that pesky holding penalty at the end, so scratch that one too.

If we beat the Pack this week all all the pundits will have egg on their faces.

It would be interesting to see where we rank in the power rankings as well. Considering ESPN has the Pack ranked 3rd? Come on Baltimore, Steelers, Jets, Patriots, and Saints are all better than the Packers, and after Sunday the Redskins will have proved that they are. ;)

We are leading the NFC East 2-0 which is great considering last season 0-6 but even as bad as the Giants are playing they have had our number people. We don't play them for a while but when we do we better kicked them in their Big Blue Ass. So sick of Eli and the Giants D-Line getting after us. I hope we destroy them like they did us at FedEx last year. It's to early to tell who will win the NFC East.

The NFC East is very wide open, none of the teams are very good.

The late Pete Rozelle had a design on parity as a tool to create fair competition, revenue, and most of all fan interest. Through the years since his passing the league has progressively become more balanced in terms of strength and weaknesses. As a result of that balance, the wide disparity that one time existed between teams is no longer prevalent. The recent lopsided years of the Lions, Rams, Dolphins and Chiefs being the exception.

There are 13 teams with a 2-2 record, far above what we've seen in the past. Absent a rash of injuries, improved play defensively and a little good fortune, I'm in agreement with those who think the Redskins have a chance at winning the east.
