Older members will no doubt remember what an exciting first season he had for the Redskins and how he fulfilled that promise the following year with outstanding numbers but what happened after that?
I think he had one more poor year for the Redskins before going somewhere else and virtually disappearing.
Information was very hard to come by over here way back then and I never did find out what happened.
Can anybody explain?

Amazing start to his career for an 8th round pick.
1982 32 receptions, 690 yards, 21.6 yards per catch, 8 TDs and a Pro Bowl berth. (9 games)
1983 78 receptions, 1225 yards, 15.7 yards per catch, 8TDs and another Pro Bowl.
He did have one decent season for Atlanta in 1986 but hardly fulfilled the promise of those first 2 seasons.
Injuries?

He had a brutal injury midway through the 1984 season. happened as he was being tackled near the sideline (can't remember the opponent) but his knee basically bent a way it shouldn't have under the weight of the defender (that helped lead to Art Monk's then record-setting 106 catch season).
After that he just wasn't the same. That injury (plus an alleged drug problem) led to his departure from the NFL just a few years later
Believe he's a high school coach in Georgia now

So first a thread on LaVar, now one on Charlie Brown...what's up with Nick Giaquinto these days?

Cheers SS.
Was the Arrington thread that made me think of this to be honest.
Have since thought of quite a few other players that disappeared after a promising start to their careers but i'll spare you and the board.

I personally liked it as I am often curious where Ol' ??? went?

Maybe instead of a thread for each, we could just have one "Whatever happened to..."
Think we had one like that before once, but it may have been about other Warpath members, not Redskins
