Youth movement.
More like performance in the case of LJ and Wille and injury in the case of Portis.

Portis heard his groin "pop" (out 4-6 weeks)SirClintonPortis 10-06-2010, 04:43 PM Youth movement. More like performance in the case of LJ and Wille and injury in the case of Portis. Monkeydad 10-06-2010, 04:46 PM Very possible. Ryan Grant was IR'ed even though he could have come back midseason or something. Grant tore an ankle ligament, an injury with a 10-12 week healing process. Portis has a 4-6 week injury at this point. If he had not been performing well prior to the injury, there could be a reason to IR him, but if we can get 8 games out of him and or even bring him back for a playoff push, we should. Monkeydad 10-06-2010, 04:48 PM Personally I think he's just saying that because Keiland Williams is on the practice squad right now yet everyone expects he'll be activated for Sunday's game You're probably right at this point, but I also think KW will be the backup. From the article you posted: Most likely, Ryan Torain will start at running back, and Williams will be elevated to the 53-man roster some time this week (going off the last two weeks’ roster moves, late Friday or Saturday). Chad Simpson, who was added two weeks ago, but was inactive against St. Louis and used only on special teams last week, likely would be the third running back on Sunday. 12thMan 10-06-2010, 04:54 PM I think this might be the end of Portis as a Skin, especially if the other guys step and contribute. MTK 10-06-2010, 05:02 PM Here's to hoping that Torain takes the job and never looks back. But if CP is healthy and ready to come back at some point this year, he will be back in the lineup in some type of role. I normally agree with your posts, but not this. Portis has performed marginally well this year. He wasnt on pace for a monster year, or anything like that. If Torain, or any of the other backs are running well, especially if we are a playoff team by the point Portis could return, why would they go back to a guy who hasn't played in 6 weeks and is probably out of shape? Seriously....when playoffs are here or on the line, you stick with whats working. Torain could be hot by midseason. Like others have said. My money is that CP is done as a redskin. Hog1 10-06-2010, 05:02 PM Here's hoping Torain can....BLOCK! skinsfaninok 10-06-2010, 05:03 PM I doubt he's done as a Redskins but he's no longer our Number 1 RB skinsfaninok 10-06-2010, 05:05 PM Julius Jones is out there LOL SolidSnake84 10-06-2010, 05:06 PM He's in the final year of his ginourmous contract. If he is a redskin next year, it means that he has agreed to a lesser contract, and most likely a much lesser role. Knowing Portis, do you really believe he'd agree to that? I'd guess he figures that he could still start in the league, and get Starter money. I see a handful of teams wanting him as a backup, but i dont think anybody would want him as a starter...could i be wrong? |
