The Positive

Yes,we played like warmed up garbage against one of the worst teams in the NFL.
No doubt about that!

But there are some things we need to keep in mind, before jumping off a bridge...

We got Philly this weekend, who is red hot!
A win @ Philly puts us back in 1st place with a 2-2 overall record and a 2-0 Division Record.(2-1 conference record)

We also get Trent Williams back instead of Heyer..(he could have played, but I think the coaches did the smart thing in resting him for 3 very tough opponents coming up(Philly,G.B. and the Colts)

Our running game looked a lot better, although it was against the Rams. Maybe with Portis,Williams,ATV and Simpson,it will give Shanahan more tools to work with against opponents.

Gano is looking good. Been a long time we had a kicker I didn't feel nervous about. If they can avoid the stupid ST's blunders on the FG teams,we will be fine. (Hunter Smith will be holding for him,if we sign him cause we won't have 2 Punters active on game day) This could be good as well.

Hunter also gives us the fake FG or Punt as he throws the ball well...A new dimension to the ST's we should have kept all along. (should have kept him in the 1st place)

My vents....

We need to find a way to get Brandon Banks back on the practice squad or 53 man roster...(But I have a feeling he will be scooped up through waivers...this was a very bad move imo) We desperately need his speed on the field. Do we really need Roydell Williams that bad or newly signed RB Chad Simpson? I simply just don't understand this move, but the coaches know better than me.

We can use Banks on screens, returns or whatever. He may have fixed his fumbling for all we know, but his homerun ability and natural speed an RAC as a receiver can not be overlooked for moving the ball downfield for 1st downs. This team is not very fast and cutting the fastest guy on the team with lots of promise or keeping him on the practice squad is not very smart imo...

Haslett needs to have a team meeting or Fletcher does or someone...
We go from allowing 7 pt's against Dallas to 30 pt's in back-to-back games against the Texans and Rams...

That is just not acceptable!!:angry-smi

If they don't fix this problem, than Philly will drop 50+ pt's on us with the way we are covering receivers.

I don't know if it's the tackling, the 3-4 scheme or what, but I did notice something yeesterday that I DID NOT LIKE AT ALL...

I saw our CB's playing off the Rams WR's 10 yards off the ball or more...And after the quick slants and passes by Bradford, there was no adjustment.

Why did he not Blitz this game? Or play not as aggressive as the previous 2 games...?
Did the Texans game scare Haslett or something? Allowing all those yards...

If you would have told me that Greg Blache coached this last game against the Rams,I would have believed you...

Time to end the Shanahan VS Haynesworth pissing contest and get him on the field somehow...It's one thing to have an ego and prove a point,it's another when it's a detriment to the teams success.

What, you didn't see Haynesworth cave in the o-line of the Rams on that goalline stance last night?

Play the damn dude Shanny...!!:angry-smi Or haslett!

Why are we not using Fred Davis and Chris Cooley as weapons? (They were against the Texans and that was a dose of what could be?)
I don't feel like they are being used the way they should...maybe I'm missing something...It's not Mcnabb...it's more of the playcalling
Whazup Kyle?

Anyways...just wanted to say...
Next Sunday against the eagles imo, could be the turning point of the season

Like I said before...we win and we're 2-2 overall with a 2-0 division record and a 2-1 conference record with G.B. coming to our backyard and sitting in 1st place....

We lose and were 1-3 overall with a 1-1 division record and a 1-2 Conference record and in bad shape.

So,let this one go guys...next weeks game against the Eagles is HUGE!!
I think we can do it,but we got to play better defense than this...

You're dreaming if you think we'll beat the Eagles. This will be our biggest loss all season. Sorry, Im done dreaming.

The skins historically play UP against good teams and DOWN against bad teams. Lets hope they have some pride and actually show up to this game..... Haynesworth actually said the team looked past the Rams, and it showed.

I say in the NFL everything can change on a dime. It would not shock me if we win next week at all.

Definitely not time to panic. Just gotta get back to work this week and continue to work on the things we're not doing well.

I would like our chances a hell of a lot more if Shanahan would stop playing head games and get guys like Devin Thomas on the field. Thomas is running like his hair is on fire returning kickoffs. It's almost like Shanahan wants to prove that he can marginalize his predecessor's overhyped receiver and still win. The problem here is that Thomas is the most physically gifted WR on the active roster. He is clearly working hard enough on special teams to warrant a play or two with the offense, but no, it's much more satisfying to play head games, at the team's expense.

Im not too worried about it. Heyer-Lichensteiger-rabach-hicks- j brown seems too much like last seasons patch work.

We can expect this year and perhaps some of next year to have growing pains. 2012 watch out!!

They will be beat the Eagles this week. Things I would like to see:

Stop the run

Do something about those short passes and play action plays, they have been getting killed for the last 2 weeks and I see no adjustment.

If you have been a Redskins fan as long as some of us, you should know that to count on the Redskins to lose against the Eagles in a blowout is a fantasy. The Eagles even with McNabb and Co. couldn't blow us out. Even Zorn beat the Eagles! No matter how well a team plays against another team, it is hard to reproduce that week after week and especially against a division rivalry. This game makes for an Air McNabb victory. He will be ready to play. Trent Williams is back. Ryan Torrain will surprise the Eagles. And Kyle Shanahan will dial up pass plays in the redzone. I predict Redskins 28, Eagles 21.

Wouldn't shock me either.

I think they got caught peeking ahead on the calendar. I do expect we'll see a sharper and more focused effort next week.
