JKC curse?
Snyder curse?
Posse curse?
Who the hell knows...What the hell did we do?

Brandon Lloyd is the 2nd best WR in the NFL right now, going into week 4..lol

I'm beginning to wonder if we could win, if our WR core was this..
Andre Johnson
Randy Moss
Larry Fitzgerald
Brandon Marshall
Reggie Wayne

M.S said when Thomas shows them something in practice, he will play in the game.

So in other words whenever HE feels like he's ready. UGH.

Well with those WR at least the fact that the D is bad wouldn't matter.

After mid preseason, I said this was a 7-9 team...I said 6-10 last season and was wrong.
The reality is this...our defense is far worse than even I anticipated and we cant run.
This team has forgotten how to win... and the inability of the new coaching staff to put the best talent on the field is unacceptable....why is Haynesworth on the bench with a last ranked defense?...why is DT not on the field as the #2 WR?...why are they rotating Olinemen?....why is Portis sitting when he was averaging 8 yards a carry and showing a good burst in a tight game....why did the coaching staff abandon the run when the defense clearly couldn't stop anything?

This haslett thing is hitting hard way earlier than anticipated...many expected a drop off in defensive performance...but a top 10 defense turning to pure CRAP so quickly is appaling...this oline was bad last year...but we have never had rushing problems this severe...this all just proves one thing....Gibbs was far better than most of us realized.
This is a poor team with a new coaching staff that does not yet know how to put its best players on the field yet.

The first fix to this team is a major overhaul in defensive scheme to go back to a 4-3 hybrid combined with a power rushing hybrid zone blocking scheme.

This radical shift in both cannot occur successfully in one year.
This team is underperforming even the lowest expectations of 7-9.
This is a 6-10 team at best.
Get used to losing....again....
Don't mean to be a downer....just looking at the reality of the situation.
Try to enjoy 1 win per month like last year folks.

If it was possible to agree more than 100%, I would. Great post. Can't really say it any better than that.

Portis averages 8 yards a carry in the first half, we end up with basically no rushing yards in the second half, and Shanny's explanation for giving the carries to Torain is "we wanted to stick with the hot hand." ????? Whaaaaat?

Run the ball. Stop the run (or the pass for God's sake). A proven formula to win games. We do neither. At all. Given our next 3 opponents, we are staring 1-5 square in the face. That's the perspective.

If I was an oddsmaker, if aceinthehouse bet $1 on his 14-2 prediction at this point and he won, he'd be a billionaire.

Anybody talking about draft picks is such a tool .. come on people we are 1-2 ... don't give up on the season due to about 4 quarters of poor football ... we aren't the lions .. we are not the raiders ... we have talent ... we can change a lot of minds by showing up this weekend .. enough DRAFT PICK talk, makes me sick .. we are all pissed off enough due to yesterday's non-performance, don't make it worse by acting like we need trash bags over our heads at the games ... it's a loss ... it sucked .. move the "F" on

:soapbox:

I'm not sure how you think the Redskins arent pretty much the same as the Lion & Raiders. They lost to the Lions last year and barely beat the Raiders. They have lost to the Rams the last 2 times they have played them. The Skins have lost something like 13 of their last 14 road games, that's pretty Lion-like to me. I know its tough to admit but the Redskins are a bottom tier team and that isnst going to change for quite sometime because outside of Orakpo & Williams they essentially have no young core that appears poised to step in and become stars in a season or two. This is going to be a long rebuilding (of the team and the organizational culture) process.

If you believe in curses, look into the native american connection w/the redskins name. Someone told me that in the 90s a native american group did a curse ceremony or whatever it is called at fedex. There are also a no. of stories of curses that various indians have put on the team.

At times like these, curses seem believable. Look at the way the team has lost over the years w/different coaches, etc.

There are 2 differences that separate our skins from the bottom teams like Oakland & Detroit:

1) We've had a few playoff appearances this decade & managed to be 8-8 just two seasons ago. i.e. we trend closer to mediocrity than those teams.

2) we have done this at great expense w/Haynesworth being the latest example.

Otherwise, I agree w/you.

Oakland has more playoff appearances this decade than the Skins. So do the Rams. The Lions are in a class all by themselves.

I'm not sure what expense has to do with it other than the Skins are over-paying with nothing to show for it and have done so at the expense of developing their own core of young players.

You can't look at a player and pick and choose stuff like Brandon Lloyd. He has done nothing up intil the last three games so its not like he has been lighting it up sense leaving the skins. Maybe teams are not covering him because of his lack of production so he had a couple good game. Naybe he has finally grwon up and is working harder on his game. Who knows but it has nothing to do with us.

So in other words whenever HE feels like he's ready. UGH.

Of course a player will get to play when the head coach thinks he's ready. That is why you hire the damed head coach in the first place.

That is why Joe Gibbs did not start Colt Brennan - - and why Jim Zorn didn't either.

Devin Thomas had the entire off-season to show the coaching staff that he was worthy of playing WR on a regular basis. During all the OTAs and mini-camps and training camp, he could not make that case.

When players try to determine things like who will play and what position they will play and how assiduously they will follow the system, you get situations like:

Clinton Portis
Albert Haynesworth
LaVar Arrington

Oh good. The team needs lots more of those kinds of situations...

When fans try to determine who should start and who should play what position and what plays should be called on offense or defense, the team is headed for being "on the clock" as of the second week of January.
