So in my post above...

it would almost be better if we lose to the Rams,Lions,Texans,Colts,Titans,Jags
and beating GB,Bears,Bucs and Vikings....

And say...go 5-1 in the division...
That's a 9-7 record

But if the Lions and Rams are both out of playoff picture
and our other 4 losses are to AFC teams...

and lets say The eagles win east division at 11-5 (example)
Packers win North at 12-4
Saints win South at 11-5 and Seattle wins West at 10-6

And say the last 2 wildcard spots are open to
Bears 9-7
Redskins 9-7
Bucs 9-7
Falcons 10-6
Dallas 9-7 (we sweep them)
Vikings 9-7

Falcons get 5th seed
Guess who gets the 6th?

Plenty of games guys...
This eagles game is a biggie!

We simply do not have the players. We're a 4-12 team that has a better QB, better offensive scheme but a defense that doesn't fit and a tough schedule. 4-6 wins is probably keeping things in perspective.

I agree. We've done some purging and adding but we have many of the players we had last year. Better coaching, better qb, but similar talent. I was thinking 8 wins would be a ceiling for this group. Higher than 8 wins I'd be shocked.

Give it time. New coach, new GM, new system. It's hard to do, but give these guys some time.

Kind of reminds me of the first year of Gibbs 2.0.

It is disheartening to lose against a team like the Rams, but we have to remember, it isn't going to happen within one season. Let's at least get into year two before we start jumping off the cliff.

Lets see, people, we've changed:

1. Whole front office and coaching staff
2. Starting QB
3. Offensive system
4. Defensive system
5. Most starters on O-line
6. Many starters playing different positions (mostly on D)

It will take a little time to get everything running smoothly, it's to be expected. The defense especially will take some time with a big transition from 4-3 to 3-4.

As the title says, don't panic, people.

I believe we'll see an anti-Zorn year. Horrid at first, firing on all cylinders by year end. 2-6 first half and 6-2 second half...completely conceivable.

We're fixing a 4-12 team...it can't be done overnight but I am confident in the majority of the changes made.

Now, just replace Rabach and Sundberg.

Welcome back Albright and Hunter the Punter.

Also, I don't understand all of the Portis bashing going on post game. He looked GREAT yesterday, breaking longer runs, averaging over 6 yd/carry, without Trent Williams blocking for him.

He was nicked up coming into the game. He wasn't benched for performance, I believe his wrist got aggravated. We need CP, especially his blocking.

Torain did equally-well. Credit most of the O-line.

Kareem Moore, nice return to action.

Ok I'll be honest that was a long post from the OP, and no I didn't finish all. But I got the jist of it.

I'm pretty sure you saying almost what I was saying last night after I calmed down. I came here and saw the ..."Lets string Haslett and fire him" thread and could only laugh. Then there was the whole lets cut this player and the player cause they suck comments. lol.

We are 3 games into the season. We have a new HC, OC, DC, and all the coaching staff below them, new scheme on both sides of the ball, new QB, new OL, new DL, and just because they are not a SB team right now we need to scrap everything yet again and start over yet again.

How about everyone take a deep breath and calm down, enjoy or don't enjoy the games the team wins or loses on Sundays and allow this organization, coaching staff, and players to figure this thing out, bring in the right players, and correct the problems. How about we talk stability for a change. Give the team a chance to succeed vs. automatically labeling them losers and screaming to fire everyone "yet again" and putting people in place who will be destined to fail because there is no patients in DC.

It's hard not to panic when this team goes out and performs exactly the way we didn't want to see .. the exact same way we have dealt with for the past 20 yrs .. THESE types of games were exactly what McNabb and Shanny were brought here to avoid .. we are 1-2 and yes Philly is this weekend .. but if you don't think some of the mojo that was steam rolling towards this game is gone your nuts ... the Eagles are as Hot as they have ever been .. that crowd is going to be going crazy ... i knew we lost that game after 5 min .. it was just one of those lazy ass games that we do after big games .. i'm so pissed off at this team because i know they are better than that performance .. i hope they are as pissed off as we are ... all that being said .. this game is the season, i know it's early but think back to when the Giants were 1-2 and the Skins' were leading them at halftime and they came back and won that game and then went on to the Super Bowl .. this is our moment to knock the Eagles off .. it's just a matter of if we can do it or not ... god damn that Rams game .. God dammit to hell

I agree. But the way we lost was SO disheartening. IF we can figure out a way to beat Philly then yes we are right in it, if we lose again then have the Colts and GB we are looking at a big time FAIL this year.

I was a little to optomistic about the switch to the 3-4. We are getting gashed in the run and pass. We shall see though there is still 13 weeks left to this year and plenty of time to get this thing fixed.

I don't mean to poke at a possum when he's down but I think we all figured there would be growing pains with the 3-4, especially since we don't have the right players for the scheme but Haslett is the secondary issue. I tried to point out when talk was out there that the team was interviewing him. I asked what has he done in the NFL period besides being a player? DC of the Saints? the defense sucked. HC of the Saints? the defense sucked. DC of the Rams? the defense sucked. HC of the Rams? the defense sucked.

When I was basically called an idiot I gave up and figured perhaps I could be wrong and he'll shine here. Now I'm simply hoping it is just needing the right players for the scheme which will take a few years to fix.

I think Haslett needs to atleast pick one thing... either run or pass but not both at this point and decide that is what we will be completely shutting down.

I still think this team is better then 8-8.
