Does it surprise you that people jump ship so quickly? I know everyone is a little upset especially after losing to the Rams, but to become so discouraged so soon sounds nothing like the energy that ignited this forum just a couple months ago. Where did it all go?
Does the term deja vu mean anything to you?

We do not have the personnel for this D, that seems pretty clear. But the die has been cast: we are going this way, come hell or high water, so it seems. We're going to have to get used to being weak on D this year, and then we'll see what the draft and offseason bring. My guess is we'll get better as players get used to the system and coaches figure out the least bad group to get out there. But we're in transition and it ain't going to be pretty for a while.
Stick with the plan and build through the draft. And don't start firing people at week 3--that's been our problem (or at least thinking that way has been). We were 4-12 last year. You can't change that overnight.

he has about 4 more games to turn it around, but if we keep regressing the way we are i just don't see how we can keep him here for another year. last year the d was not our biggest worry and if anything you could say we upgraded our talent level this year, i really didn't think it would be this bad.

Best post Ive read in awhile. But damn its frustrating to see a defense which has been decent/good for years just go to sh*t so quickly. But your right, our personal is not even close for the scheme.

Well we've given away picks for McNabb, Jammal Brown, and I think Carriker. To me it seems that MS had a "win-now" attitude instead of rebuilding. I don't mind a "win-now" attitude, but I don't understand how you are going to win when you switch to a new defensive scheme that doesn't fit our personnel.

I think the biggest thing about Haslett has been that he's too easy to solve. This is the third week in a row now where we have been the better team heading into halftime and only to come out and get absolutely stomped on.
We have potential, but Haslett has to start adjusting his plays, rather than continue to blitz his linebackers because he feels like only he's able to do it.

Sorry dude, I never trusted this whole switch to the 3-4. I mean, how the hell can you beat anyone after getting beat by the Rams? Here's the rest of our schedule...
@ Eagles (L)
vs. Green Bay (L)
vs. Indy (L)
@ Bears (L)
@ Detroit (??)
We could easily be 1-6 or 2-5 by the bye week.
I feel you...I was saying the exact same thing to myself while watching that debacle today. The next month does not look good for the home team.

Have faith. I am not going to give up this easy. A win or two the next 3 weeks and we are back in this thing. It is too early to give up. Come guys we will get em next week. Whenever we are 2 and 6 then we can think about giving up. HTTR!!!!!

It is too early to talk about firing Haslett. That said, our defense sure has taken a great step down. The dominant image of our defense this year is an informal huddle of defensive backs who are trying to sort out who should have covered whom after a play. It has happened again and again.

I agree and say they beat the Eagles next week. In order to do that, changes need to be made.
