Watching Sunday Night Football and i'm seeing a lot of 4-3 looks from two 3-4 defenses. I would think Haslett has got to see the writing on the wall and start incorporating a better mix for the personnel he has.

Amazing how fast the pack will turn.

I'm going to start making a list of bums... week one was AH, week two was Doughty, week three is Rogers, Carter, Fletcher, and Haslett. I forget anyone? is there anyone left? lol.

Look across the board I saw problems, I'm not sure if it was scheme or players not fitting the scheme or simply just players not doing their jobs. The players I saw giving up big plays, or not tackling;
Buchanon
Carter
Rogers
Hall

crap I could list just about everyone on defense. It just seemed like when the team quickly became 14 points down every player on defense must have felt they had to make a play and ended up over reacting and on just about every play someone different broke down.

Several of us argued to trade him last spring while his value was at its highest (coming off 11 sacks). With each passing game, his trade value drops.

I don't think his value necessarily drops in the eyes of 4-3 teams. He's a physical freak and is in great shape. He's being played WAY out of position. He's always been a hand in the dirt pass rusher in a 4-3. I think we should be shopping him big-time. He's a gigantic liability right now.

Then again we could always move back to a 4-3.

Unfortunately, that would make sense, something this team doesn't seem to be familiar with.

That would be my vote. At least play 50-50

I think we have to. If we don't it seems awfully stupid. What we're doing isn't working at all. Not even close. Take the damn ego out of it and adjust. We simply do not have the talent or personnel to be playing a full time 3-4.

Especially since we have a competent offense this year (though I don't know what the **** happened with Portis today). The NFC East is going to be wide open, the caoching staff (haslett) needs to get their shit in one sock.

I thought I remember hearing Shanahan saying around the time he was hired that he would have a 3-4 defense, but wouldn't abandon the 4-3, using 4-3 looks.

Joe Gibbs came here wanting to light up the scoreboard passing. He took a look around and decided the only way to win was with a power running game.

Shanny needs to do some soul searching this week. He has painted himself into a "win now" corner.

We don't need to fire Haslett. We just need to pull Greg Blache out of retirement and hire him as a defensive assistant. Then when we lose against the Eagles, Packers, Colts, and Bears, we let Blache make the defensive calls against the Lions. Blache will somehow call a better game and the fans will say "See it's not the defensive line, it's the coach."
