Larry Johnson Cutskinsnut 09-21-2010, 10:49 PM this move was needed...excellent trigger..don't bring him back...crumbled and made a rookie mistake with the game on the line Chico23231 09-21-2010, 10:55 PM Chad Simpson?....LJ was a joke. Id say run K Williams much more and see what he has. I thought with CP and being in Shanny offense previously, he would adapt quickly and we'd be seeing production? Sorry, but that a been a fail so far. Portis to me has been a disappointment especially after how things were going to be "different now"...go ahead and put down RB on the "wish list" for the offseason MTK 09-21-2010, 10:59 PM I kinda felt this coming. LJ was slow and not a good fit for the zone scheme. I think this means it's time for Williams to step up. backrow 09-21-2010, 11:10 PM I was really hoping the Burgandy and Gold would've cut Reed (The Witness) Doughty. The Goat 09-21-2010, 11:18 PM The LJ signing and release, and the lack of RB talent on the roster, make me nervous. What's the plan again? GridIron26 09-21-2010, 11:22 PM The LJ signing and release, and the lack of RB talent on the roster, make me nervous. What's the plan again? Don't forget Shanny has history of finding RB gems.. Mc2guy 09-21-2010, 11:27 PM I think LJ and WP were signed in the offseason for one reason only...Shanahan wasn't sure that Clinton was going to buy in and be a team guy and they needed a veteran in the backfield to lead the young guys. With CP stepping up and LJ looking ancient, this was a foregone conclusion. I would look for Shanahan to try and find a hidden gem either through a trade or in the late round of the draft. He has never looked for first (or even second) round talent at RB...just young guys with a quick initial cut and burst. You don't have to be Chris Johnson to do well in Shanahan's run system, but you better have a decent first cut and some explosion through the hole. Clinton, god love him, just doesn't have the burst any more. LJ didn't have either. BTW, on a personal note, I couldn't be happier to see that d-bag misogynist shown the door. itvnetop 09-21-2010, 11:39 PM I'm not buying it. Running backs get paid to find holes and run through them. He might have still have something left in the tank, but definitely not as a featured back. LOL... I was talking about Keiland Williams. Larry Johnson is done. Ruhskins 09-22-2010, 12:05 AM The LJ signing and release, and the lack of RB talent on the roster, make me nervous. What's the plan again? I guess put your trust on K. Williams as the back up? I dunno, not too crazy with the running game in general. SirClintonPortis 09-22-2010, 12:09 AM Even though I made a call to improve the trenches. I MUST point out that we should let them settle into the zone-blocking scheme a bit first before panicking. |
