I used to tower climb back in the day but they were probably 150-180 feet, nothing crazy high like that. I think that it would freak me out nowadays.

So what's the tower for? Did they build it just to climb it?

That's just crazy. It takes some serious guts to do that. Especially knowing it's not easy climbing down if a storm breaks out.
