Again, we're only 2 games in against two very good offenses. Haslett is not some bum off the street. The mighty Gregg Williams only ranked 25th last year and has a ring.

Just watched the NFL Network replay of the Texans debacle, and Haslett deserves some measure of blame for the collapse. Houston was D-E-A-D, down by 17, 3rd and 15, late in the 3rd quarter when Haslett dialed up yet another blitz that yielded the 50 yard screen to Arian Foster and let Houston back in the game. The Skins never regained momentum after that.

Good point on Williams...touche'

Counter point...the Skin's offense does not have anywhere near the offensive firepower of NO... GW is smart enough to gamble on blitzes when he knows his offense can score 30 a game. That could yield big yardage but may result in turnovers...which occured.

Haslett does this stuff regardless of the situation...at least so far this season.
I will give him more time...but I (and likely other educated fans) are getting a bit uncomfortable with this need for a radically different defense without the proper personnel...now we need to worry about defensive playcalling too.

I think you bring a good point here...Haslett is blitzing as though we have the defense for it. And well it doesn't work all the time. Had Haslett gone a bit conservative and focus more on coverage, we could have won the game.

Honestly, after being down 17 points, I think as a defense you defend the pass, especially Andre Johnson. While Foster was running all over us, many teams don't catch up by running the ball, especially when you have a QB like Schaub and a receiver like Johnson.

While Haslett is not the sole reason we lost (as we know it was Reed Doughty :smashfrea ) his overly aggressive blitzing scheme on a team that is learning the 3-4 and may not have the right personnel is a bit concerning.
