The official word on offensive lineman rotating inMTK 09-13-2010, 01:49 PM Redskins Insider - Offensive line strategy creates competition for Dockery (http://voices.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/offensive-line/offensive-line-strategy-create.html#more) Monkeydad 09-13-2010, 01:55 PM I noticed Lichtensteiger was playing a lot, but did not see an injury to an O-lineman. Question answered. Pocket$ $traight 09-13-2010, 02:11 PM This is great coaching. Dock is solid as a rock but I have always felt like he should be more dominant in the running game, especially in short yardage. JoeRedskin 09-13-2010, 02:13 PM Wow. Thought, design and discipline in using O-linemen. Who'd a thunk it! Pocket$ $traight 09-13-2010, 02:24 PM Wow. Thought, design and discipline in using O-linemen. Who'd a thunk it! Captain Slip and Slide never did although he did catch Cooley's ankle surgery. SmootSmack 09-13-2010, 02:26 PM On the one hand, yeah I get it. On the other, don't you want some consistency on your line so that unit can learn to play with each other and gel as one complete unit? steveo395 09-13-2010, 02:33 PM Lichtensteiger should come in to replace Rabach instead of Dockery... as long as the snaps don't get screwed up because of a change in center freddyg12 09-13-2010, 02:44 PM When I saw Heyer in the game I thought 'oh no' is brown hurt? I was waiting for some word from the booth. I've never heard of any pro team rotating o linemen. Most of those guys usually play the whole game even if it's a blowout. scowan 09-13-2010, 02:49 PM Hey if it keeps them fresh and it works keep it up. I think it makes them hungry to get out there. I agree with Steveo, Rabach may be a great Center mentally, but Ratcliff was just wearing him out. Thank goodness for Portis, busting him up everytime he came through. Pocket$ $traight 09-13-2010, 03:19 PM On the one hand, yeah I get it. On the other, don't you want some consistency on your line so that unit can learn to play with each other and gel as one complete unit? The more I think about it, you have a good point mainly because of what we are dealing with on the left side (a rookie tackle). If it were Samuels that would be one thing but it probably makes sense for Trent to know the tendencies of the guy next to him. |
