Signed, Deion Sanders Daseal 11-22-2004, 11:52 PM Kinda feel bad for him. He built his whole offense around WInslow and boom. They have a great young RB in green, a great fullback, good WRs, superb potential at TE, and a decent QB. sportscurmudgeon 11-23-2004, 12:48 AM Butch Davis fired all of his offensive coordinators two years ago; then he fired all his defenisve coordinators last year. Or was it vice vers? He pulled a political power play in the front office to get Dwight Clark and Carmen Policy outta town. Now the team is "underachieving" and there just isn't anyone left for him to point the finger at. Twelfth in the conference in offense and eleventh in the conference in defense doesn't get it done. SmootSmack 11-23-2004, 12:52 AM The Jimmy Johnson coaching tree hasn't been all that great has it? Wandsttedt, Norv, Campo, Butch sportscurmudgeon 11-23-2004, 01:36 AM smootsmack: Neither has the Joe Gibbs coaching tree been very "productive". Bugel, Pettibone, Hannifan, Cameron. Now I'll grant you that Bugel had two awful "opportunities" going to ARizona and Oakland and Hannifan was also with Arizona, but none of these four had much success as HCs. SmootSmack 11-23-2004, 01:55 AM SC, I know it hasn't been productive and I knew that you'd be the one to bring it up ;) saden1 11-23-2004, 02:26 AM Firing your head coach in the middle of the season is a pretty dumb move. It hardly works for the best. rome108 11-23-2004, 08:13 AM smootsmack: Neither has the Joe Gibbs coaching tree been very "productive". Bugel, Pettibone, Hannifan, Cameron. Now I'll grant you that Bugel had two awful "opportunities" going to ARizona and Oakland and Hannifan was also with Arizona, but none of these four had much success as HCs. Don't forget Dan Henning, former head coach of the Chargers, he was Gibbs OC for a while. I think he's OC of the panthers now MTK 11-23-2004, 08:34 AM Davis wanted the power and with that comes ultimate responsibility. I can't say this comes as a surprise. |
