Pocket$ $traight 09-26-2010, 10:19 AM Thats exactly what he said.......Heres a quite from NFL.com
"I guess in this world we don't have a lot of people with, like, backbones," Haynesworth said. "Just because somebody pay you money don't mean they'll make you do whatever they want or whatever. I mean, does that mean everything is for sale?
The guy is a total fuktard.
Did you listen to the interview?
Alvin Walton 09-26-2010, 10:22 AM What difference does it make, I read the transcript.
I really dont get how people can defend this idiot.
Worst Redskin ever.......

I really dont get how people can defend this idiot.
Worst Redskin ever.......
Because context is everything.
So he is the worst Redskin ever because he had an issue with the team in the offseason? He said he has no issues with the team, coaches or players now and that he likes the defense.
Alvin Walton 09-26-2010, 10:36 AM An issue?
An issue?
You serioulsy want me to type out all the crap thats wrong with this guy.....?????
He's paid like he's a Tom Brady caliber player and he's not even a starter.
How the fox can you defend that?

But he isn't making 100 million.
Longtimefan 09-26-2010, 11:21 AM Scud, did you write this article?
Haynesworth says contract doesn't make him 'slave' - NFL News - FOX Sports on MSN (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Redskins-Haynesworth-uncertain-for-Sundays-game-85387595)
It couldn't be further from the truth but that is today's media...
I think Haynesworth will learn it's not wise to at any time use the word "slave" in an atempt to characterize or compare any uncomfortable situation that may arise in today's society. It's a very bad word for some, one they'd just as soon not embark upon.
Jesse Jackson recently met with the same set of circumstances in his comments about Dan Gilbert and the LeBron James situation. Experience should have taught him by now to leave that word alone.
Giantone 09-26-2010, 11:22 AM But he isn't making 100 million.
.........your arrogance is entertaining .
Haynsworth quote...."Haynesworth said it was agreed that he would play defensive tackle in a 4-3 system when he signed with the Redskins in 2009, but the team has since overhauled its front office, coaching staff and offensive and defensive schemes. He said he now likes the new scheme better as he works with defensive coordinator Jim Haslett."
So why is that, becuase he bitched and moaned about the D last year ,so they give him what he wants ....New coaches ,,,money and a all he has to do is play.....
Pocketts ...even Ray Charles can see this guy is a detriment to your team.
warpaint 09-26-2010, 11:26 AM What bothers me is that you have to listen to the interview before you come to an opinion. Obviously, the author of the AP story has an agenda just like most of the people who write about Haynesworth these days.
Here is what I took from the interview:
- AH was calm the whole time, even making a couple of jokes.
- While he probably should have said it differently, the "slave" quote was not referring to any current feelings toward the organization. He was trying to explain why he was upset with the team in the offseason (that when they were negotiating the team made some promises to him). The last time I checked, you aren't a bad person because you disagree with your employer on an issue.
- He promised that there are no locker room problems and that he has no issues with any teammates.
- He talked about why he used his trainer instead of going to the team offseason workouts.
- He confirmed, when asked, that he purchased TVs for the front office people who work for the Redskins (including equipment folks).
- He has no problems with coaches Shanahan or Haslett.
Basically, no matter what this guy does or says, the media is going to create a story and sensationalize it.
I agree he also said he and Shanny are on good terms even after the whole headache deal. Shanny thought AH was going to explain his condition to the media. The media will do blow it up for readers like Alvin.

Sorry, I don't see how someone getting a ton money suddenly loses the right to air any grievances whatsoever. The extraneous verbal agreements were violated, and hence I do not see how receiving money suddenly means that people can break their assurances on the receiver of the money. Taken strictly, it means that only those relatively poorer deserve to have promises kept.
I can see why in Albert's case, his exercise of such right is not well justified, as he overstepped the bounds by not attending mandatory camp.
But even so, receiving money is not synonymous with receiving goodwill or generosity. It's receiving the ability to buy goods and services. Hence, the general moral principle you and bunch of other are using is suspect at best.
