Shanahan is a man not a mouse. Some of you guys act like this is such a terrible situation that the FO is near suicidal about it. There are disgruntled employees in every line of business. I know some of you guys are really upset about it, but lets not fixate on one thing and go over board about it either. The press is making a bigger deal about it than you might think. We are not going to give him away.

But Defensewins we live in an era where part of coaching and leading an NFL organization is managing the media perception and properly handling the press. For all of his douchebaggery, Bill Belichick has been brilliant at it. This isn't the day of Vince Lombardi where you can shut the cameras out of the locker room and give some Knute Rockne speech and fire the boys up. Nowadays players tweet, text, blog and everything in between; sometimes during the game. So managing the press is very much a part of how well you prepare, ward off distractions, and focus for an upcoming game.

For all the excitement the new Shanahan/Allen era was supposed to generate for the franchise, it has been completely drained by The Haynesworth reality show: He loves me, He loves me not.

Another thing, and this isn't directed at you, but I keep hearing we need to get something of value for Haynesworth. What a joke! At this point if the Titans give up any picks and player for Fat Al, it would be the steal of the century.

I don't have Dan Snyder's address at my fingertips, but when it happens hit him up.

Do you think cleaning up Vinny's mess would come cheap?

So how is this any different than the TO drama in Philly and Dallas? Or Chad Ochocinco's in Cincy? You think if this were going on to the Cowboys, we weren't talking about it as if it was the end of the world for them?

I'm not saying that this will cause us to lose on Sunday, or that our season is down the drain because of it. But this still is a distraction that the team doesn't need. Just making that point and that the team should've handled this a long time ago.

Ruhskins, I totally agree with you that this should have all been handled awhile ago, and I guess the team gave big Al the benifit of the doubt, like we all did if we were honest when he finally came into camp. I'm just saying that I really doubt this is as distracting to the team as we are all making it out to be on this thread. If I have a fellow employee that doesn't want to work with me at my business it is distracting maybe initially then, but then I go about my job and don't worry about them. I don't think he will get on the field much anyway Sunday because the team can't trust him, so it won't matter when they all get down into their 3 point stances on the field and he is not out there.

I'm not sure that having AH underperform or sit on the bench results in the Skins getting their money worth.

The only way that the team can get their money's worth is to have AH play at an All-Pro level, which to this point he has refused to do.

Sometimes cutting losses is the smart strategy.

I don't disagree but it is easier to say when its not your cash.

True true.

To this end I would not be surprised to see AH benched, possibly suspended, and then traded in the offseason.
