The Albert smear campaign continues - NFC East Blog - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/blog/nfceast/post/_/id/17808/the-albert-smear-campaign-continues)

I tend to agree with this article, why not just release the guy and move on with a clean slate?

They're not going to pay the guy 32 mil for one year and let him walk. Not gonna happen. He's playing here or no where.

Does anyone else suspect a motivational reason for all this negative publicity for AH? I mean the man is being ridiculed in public on a daily basis.

Gotta wonder which way this will go. I think he'll come into the 'Pokes game chewing nails looking to stomp on someone's head. On the other hand, all this noise might just shut him down completely...

We'll see Sunday -- can't wait!
Gawd, not again!

I personally think Shanny has got to let up. This has gone on the entire preseason, and he's proven a point. Haynesworth is supposedly still one of our best defensive players. We KNOW he'd play hard if he's given the starting role.

Just like someone has said, this is strangely very similar to the treatment of Lavar Arrington. A puzzling year where a good player was benched because of clashes with coaches / lack of commitment to the schemes.

I figured once they were joking with each other, they'd let bygones be bygones.

Sorry Sandtrap -- nothing personal.

So I guess they'd rather just continue with this soap opera and pay the guy to ride the pine?

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If he's not part of their plans I really wish they would just move on and cut him loose.

This is why I put this mess more on the team. Not that I'm defending Haynesworth at all, he deserves all that he has gotten. But, if Mike Shanahan wants to continue to stick it to the guy, and prove a point he proved several weeks ago, just cut the guy loose and cut your loses. We could have be done and over with a long time ago if they had traded him or just release him.

Maybe they're looking to get a return on their investment. Letting him walk isn't the smart business move. Yeah I'd like to get rid of this malcontent but it's not my money. If I owned the team he wouldn't be going anywhere so I can understand the front office' position.

Trading him or cutting him would get rid of this soap opera. I don't understand why Shanahan insist on making this an issue. At this point it's all on them.

Old FAT AL is just a POS. I had one of my boys that lives in the DC/MD area at the house this am. One of his best friends lives in the same community with FAT AL for whatever its worth he was stating that FAT AL is on the boat drinking with his boys creating havoc all hours of the night and he was a 100% POS in the community where they live.

For some reason it came as no surprise. At this point I really can't wait till this cancer is run outta this town.

Defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth was not taking any snaps with the starters. As the team went through its nickel packages, it appeared that Haynesworth had been bumped from first to second string.

His value is at an all time low and everyone knows it. Detroit has a terrible defense and they didn't even want the guy. Jim Swartz knows he's a big pain in the ass first hand. If they're not taking him then who else would?? Right now the only thing to do is keep him.
