This was the best highlight by far, although watching Brunell sit was a close second. Couldn't stop laughing--had Tivo replay it about 5 times. Felt like we had a chance after this one. Then we squandered the opportunity and reality set back in.

What's the answer at QB? I'm not convinced a scrambler is the way to go. Or is it a question directed to the OL? They appeared to give Ramsey all day and only gave up 1 sack, but the inopportune false starts and holding penalties continue to kill them. The overthrown and dropped passes didn't help either. My head hurts trying to figure it out.
And did Portis seem to be dancing around too much and not hitting the holes? There's no way that piece of sh*t Totter has found the fountain of youth again. He looked like the all-pro we thought we were getting.

Were we watching the same game? Outside of the number and name on the back of the jersey, the quarterbacking looked the same. Another outstanding effort by the defense wasted, although we still can't seem to cover tight ends or backs in the red zone.
Back to PR, he flat out sucked yesterday. Outside of one drive, the first and goal fiasco, there was no point at which I thought we had a chance to score. The playcalling was vanilla, but Ramsey's passes were all over the place. I'm not even going to discuss the qb sneak, but I'm guessing Ramsey covered his eyes and crapped his pants on that one.
I have no confidence in Ramsey at all. QB of the future, get back to me on that one. Right now I'd like to see a qb who can hit the freaking checkdown with some consistency! Or a qb who can complete the wideout screen, a staple of our offense for 3 yrs running now. I thought (hoped) that Spurrier took that play with him to South Carolina. Why on earth would you run that play twice in a row? And I thought Gibbs had figured out how to get Portis going, where were the quick hitters we saw against Chicago?
The playcalling sucked, the offense sucked, and the officiating sucked again. Do we have to get screwed on every challenge? If anyone could explain to me why our dbs always get called for pass interference, yet teams do everything but punch our wideouts without anything being called. We're not good enough for it to be a conspiracy, but I'm beginning to wonder. You'd think we'd catch a break here and there, but nope we continue to just get the shaft.
Memphis, what game were you watching? Most of us here think that Ramsey did a decent job. You gotta admit that he was an upgrade from Brunell. Let's not forget who we were playing also. I think he did fine under the circumstances he was in. IE: WR's dropping balls, conservative play calling, no running game whatsoever, and an offensive line that couldn't even line up without commiting a penalty.

I agree Ramsey did do a great job. He took what the defense gave him ( and Gibbs for that matter ). I think part of the reason why the offense was so vanilla was because Gibbs was trying to protect Ramsey. He knew that Philly would be blitzing from every angle to try to rattle Ramsey.
I know many won't agree with me, but I think Ramsey is the QB of our future no doubt.
RP that's funny and so true as well it wasen't so much what philli gave him, it was what Gibb's gave him, what's next, Gibb's pull's Ramsey out of football all together to play soccer so he wont get hurt. Gibb's play calling should make all the soccer mom's very happy.
I also agree 100% Ramsey is the future no doubt!

Memphisskin - What game were YOU watching? All Ramsey threw (besides the 50,000 WR screens) was the checkdown! He did what Gibbs wanted him to do, and if it wasn't for multiple drops, his completion % would have been even better.....Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that was the best comp% for a Skins QB so far this year (which I know, doesn't say much).
As for the QB sneak, that's all on the O-line...
Oh, and for those who couldn't see the game, his one late INT was a pass that was a little high to 5'7" Rock Cartwright, which he still should have pulled down, but instead, he tipped it to the defender...
Even though none were completed, it was kind of nice to see a deep pass overthrown, so no one can get it if the WR can't.

Ramsey played smart and did alot better than what Brunell could have done. I think Gibbs will open the offense more for him as the season progresses. Gibbs wanted to protect him in this game. If Ramsey can end the season with alot of confidence and playing well, then that is going to be major building block for next year.

it's clear that we wasted 2-3 games w brunell playing. against the best team in the nfc the skins hung in there. pr will pick up the pace this season and should finish out reasonably well. thats what we need and this should help him learn for a better campaign next year. he's the QB of our future.
