Monkeydad 09-02-2010, 01:20 PM Mariner Energy Inc. (http://www.mariner-energy.com/about.html) Looks like their HQ is in Houston. Not sure what country "owns" them. They also have offices in Canada, so that Houston office could be just so it's close to the Gulf work. Monkeydad 09-02-2010, 01:21 PM Guess we'll be hearing the name Scott Josey a lot now.... Mariner Energy Inc. (http://www.mariner-energy.com/officers.html#) CRedskinsRule 09-02-2010, 01:23 PM It doesn't sound like any deaths, and no oil spilling, so this one will fade away pretty quickly. That makes me wonder if small explosions are a common, part-of-the-job occurrence with drilling, but we never heard about it before the BP spill...and now every one will get press, even if trivial. Oil IS combustible. CRedskinsRule 09-02-2010, 02:06 PM well, first reports can be wrong, and I remember the BP spill, lots of different estimates etc. Here is a twitter update: YahooNews UPDATE: Coast Guard: Mile-long #oil sheen spreading from site of burning platform in the #Gulf off La. Oil IS combustible. The company called it a fire, but they could be down-playing it. I think fires are common however. Working on an oil platform is a dangerous job. firstdown 09-03-2010, 12:06 PM I think the radical left are planning these accidents to stop more offshore drilling. MTK 09-03-2010, 12:10 PM Thanks Rush. |
