some good games on today the auburn game was great and cam looked real good it was nice to see him having fun out there not letting all the crap bother him. and the sc fla game is a damn good one too. anyone who thinks the sec isn't the best conference in college football is crazy. sorry scud but it looks like the ole ball coach is gonna get this one for the other team

First time SC got us in our house EVER. Wow. And only their second win ever vs the Gators, putting them at 2-18 all time. The SEC top to bottom is very good, with 7 teams in the top 25.

I tip my hat to Spurrier and the Gamecocks. They're a better team this year for sure.

That said, I like how loaded with blue chip talent our younger guys are though. The '08 National Championship led to what some have called the best recruiting class of all time in '09. Give us a minute. We'll be back.

To be fair, I ascribe the SEC's success to winning (and recruiting dominance) more than anything else. I mean, they've won 4 straight national titles and 6 of the last 10.

I'm not sure I've ever poo-pooed smaller/lesser known programs' high rankings as a fluke, dumb luck, or a down year for the SEC. However when you look at schools like Boise St, how can you not consider strength of schedule? This year they beat a vastly overrated Va Tech (the ACC is garbage this season), and a .500 Oregon State team. That's it. They are a great program to be sure, and they've proven in the past they can hang with teams like Oklahoma (thanks to gadget plays, but hey, a W is a W), but SOS is important. You look at Boise State's schedule... I mean... pretty much all of those schools would lose to SEC bottom feeders.

A one loss team that runs the gauntlet of an SEC (or this year, a PAC 10) schedule is more deserving of a shot at the title than a team that plays nobody.

That said, get a damn playoff system. The BCS is a joke.

C'mon now! They had an inexperienced defense that only returned 3 of 11 starters from last season. Despite that they still held their own against Boise State and yes, lost a game they should have won to JMU. They haven't lost since the loss to JMU and have improved just about every week. The team finishes in the top just about every year and are on pace to possibly do it again (they do need help though). They are far from overrated. Your just pissed because they are rated higher than Florida right now.

Hes just upset the SEC East is a shit pile and on the same level of play as the ACC. Look at the current standings? 5-3 leads that division. Sorry SEC is down this year. Its comical how overly sensative these guys are...lol

LOL. If you think for one second I am "pissed" about anything that has to do with Va Tech football, you're kidding yourself. Frankly the only thing I care about on a yearly basis in the ACC is that Florida State loses to my Gators (which has become an annual tradition nowadays).

I call them overrated because it seems like almost every year they are in the preseason discussion as a national title contender, and they don't ever deliver. They haven't had a QB worth a damn since Vick. And don't forget how awful the ACC is this year.

???? huh? Overly sensitive to what? You're the one that throws a hissy fit every time anyone gives the SEC props. If you read my post, I give plenty of props to the PAC 10 this year, and also acknowledge the down year that Florida in particular is having.

What's comical is how much time you spend on here hating on the SEC and slurping the likes of the PAC 10 and Boise St, all the while mocking college football because it's "amateur." If it's such an amateur waste of time, why even bother posting in this thread?

Tyrod Taylor is pretty damn good and the ACC is what it is, "one-sided". VT has been in the confrence championship more than any other team since they moved to the ACC. The only other team to come close is GT.

I do not see how you can call VT overrated though. They schedule tough opponents early in the season every year. USC, Alabama, Boise State etc. and they don't exactly get blown out by those teams. One of these years they are going to win one of those early out of confrence games and be serious contenders. I just don't see how a model of consistency can be considered overrated.

This message is for Quake, it looks like VT is going to the ACC Championshp again. Can NC State or Florida State beat them? I don't think so. It looks like we're in the Orange Bowl again.

how did the review booth in the terps-sems game not overturn that called int on the field? mind boggling to me.

o'brien looks good, sucks the game ended with a pick but thats good experience for a 1st year freshman.

Maryland got hosed in that game on the final drive. Not only that missed call but the punt that hit the cover man in the back. I mean I was thinking to myself "God must really hate the Terps". I thought that Maryland outplayed Florida State, but it just didn't show on the scoreboard.
