Housh in my opinion would be a HUGE pick-up but I dont know who we can offer? We aren't particularly deep at any position unless we can unload a Larry Johnson or a Chris Horton or both, I'd rather not give up picks
Other teams cuts - and the obvious should we get them question.Shanetrn1 09-02-2010, 05:59 PM Housh in my opinion would be a HUGE pick-up but I dont know who we can offer? WR due to make $7M-plus guaranteed in '10. He's available, though Guess Branch, Tate, and Mike Williams are playing better than expected this summer...though I suspect it has more to do with TJ's attitude. From what I've heard people say Bengals teammates had bigger issues with TJ than Ocho and his complaints, but that's all second hand speculation Dirtbag59 09-02-2010, 06:13 PM Guess Branch, Tate, and Mike Williams are playing better than expected this summer...though I suspect it has more to do with TJ's attitude. From what I've heard people say Bengals teammates had bigger issues with TJ than Ocho and his complaints, but that's all second hand speculation Well thats not really to big of a deal. Ocho is a really likable guy, very different from the type of problems T.O has caused in the past. TJ on the other hand seems just like the type of guy Shanahan would like to bring in. He already showed a willingness to bring in troublesome guys by signing LJ so I wouldn't mind bringing in a guy with his talent, especially if the problem is money, since at that point he could be had for a whopping 5th round pick. JPPT1974 09-02-2010, 06:16 PM Well some players that are undrafted, really make it. And some that are drafted, don't. MTK 09-02-2010, 06:45 PM Houshmandzadeh does nothing to help stretch the field, I think we've got the underneath stuff already covered with Cooley and Davis. skinsnut 09-03-2010, 02:11 AM Houshmandzadeh does nothing to help stretch the field, I think we've got the underneath stuff already covered with Cooley and Davis. Yeah...but he can run routes, get separation and catch passes. Name someone more consistant other than Moss tc2deuce 09-03-2010, 02:19 AM I would feel a little more comfortable with our receiving corp than I do now. The news I hear about Devin makes me want to just cut our losses and grab a proven vet. V-Jax would cost us way too much and this could be a better option. skinsnut 09-03-2010, 02:24 AM I would feel a little more comfortable with our receiving corp than I do now. Some speculation suggests that Seattle is going after Vincent Jackson, particularly if they can get a draft pick and unload TJ Houshmandzadeh skins89moss 09-03-2010, 07:10 AM Well not that the personnel people are wrong, but you have to remember the fact that these guys frequently get fired for not being able to identify talent. Kurt Warner got cut by the Packers and turned away from a tryout by the Bears all after going undrafted. Ryan Leaf was the second pick in the draft. There's a laundry list from here to the moon of personnel people that messed up on players. So to sum it up, just because Marko Mitchell has been juggled around the league doesn't mean he's a bad player. Kennan MaCardell was cut by the Redskins , and he turned out to be pretty good player. Also anyone remember Jimmy Smith of the Jags he was cut by the Cowboys and later blew up the league. :goodjob: aceinthehouse 09-03-2010, 08:11 AM Personally,I think we need to just be patient. As much as I want to make a trade or sign the 1st thing to hit the market ASAP...we need to be patient as I think there will be good talent after cuts. Honestly...I say we stay away from trading for anyone, unless it's a Carriker type of trade. No more of the trading a 1st or 2nd rounder cause we don't have a 3rd or 4th in the mcnabb and Brown deals. So we need to stay patient over the weekend. I do think we need to upgrade the WR core, but lets not kid ourselves...this isn't some Daniels is hurt lets trade a 2nd for Jason Taylor situation guys... But we definately need to keep our eye on guys like T.J. and even A.Bryant and others... I would also like to keep an eye out for Giants Cruz...Saints Ivory and players that might be stashed on teams Practice Squads or released as well... My point is..we don't need to drop a 1st and 2nd rd pick for Vincent Jackson and pay him 3 Billion a year plus a Country...OK? Ridiculous... I'm looking to upgrade..I don't think we stink though... If Shanahan is fine going into the season with Moss,Galloway and Armstrong as the Big 3..then so be it. It's not like mcnabb doesn't have studs in Cooley and Davis to go with theat combo... But would I rather have Moss,T.J and Armstrong? Absolutely... lets do what (Shanahan and Allen) have been doing...carefully finding the right guy for the team and not breaking the bank for a guy looking to get paid. OK? personally,I'm not worried at all... |
