Wouldn't be one bit surprised if Thomas gets cut due to the fact that he stinks.
Update: Malcolm Kelly To Be Placed On IRwilsowilso 08-31-2010, 03:15 PM Wouldn't be one bit surprised if Thomas gets cut due to the fact that he stinks. GMScud 08-31-2010, 03:15 PM Wonder if they'll even go 6 deep at this point Yeah, regardless of if we go 5 or 6, our receiving corps is suspect at best. Amongst the worst in the league IMO. Cooley and Davis are going to see a lot of targets. I honestly think Austin has a much better shot of making the roster. Do the vets STILL make MK carry their helmets? saden1 08-31-2010, 03:30 PM Yeah, regardless of if we go 5 or 6, our receiving corps is suspect at best. Amongst the worst in the league IMO. Cooley and Davis are going to see a lot of targets. Among worst? Ouch...your WRs are as good as the QB throwing to them. Those beautiful on point bullets that McNabb throws are going to make them look good....real good. scowan 08-31-2010, 03:30 PM This discussion of basically fringe WRs is why I will watch some of the Thursday night game this week. It really think that Skins/Cardinals game will be a one game tryout for some of these guys to help Shannahan make his final decisions. I think Banks needs to run some pass routes, catch some balls on offense and not fumble/muff some punts. Devin Thomas needs to catch everything within 5 yards of him! Armstrong is just fun to watch, period! I would love to see him become our number 2 WR! Monkeydad 08-31-2010, 03:32 PM Wouldn't be one bit surprised if Thomas gets cut due to the fact that he stinks. Not a chance. He's our second or third best WR. He hasn't done much this preseason...because he hasn't been put on the field. I really think he's a lock to make it, that's why Shanahan has been featuring Armstrong, Williams, Wade, Austin and Banks in the preseason. He has some tough choices to make at the back end of the WR depth chart. Armstrong has stepped up. But beyond that, there are at least 4 good candidates for the final two spots. Thomas wasn't even on the field for the Jets game...of course he's been quiet. He's supposed to play a lot for the final game, but I don't see how his roster spot is up in the air. wilsowilso 08-31-2010, 03:47 PM Not a chance. He's our second or third best WR. I mean you could be right, but I think he is on serious thin ice. MTK 08-31-2010, 03:49 PM Thomas is our biggest WR, most physical, and he returns kicks. I just don't see him getting the axe. Given the team's patience with Kelly, I would really be surprised to see Thomas get dropped. |
