Obviously, Rice & T.O. have done alright after 32 due to their workout regimine & guess I'd give Randy Moss a pass for being a physical freak?

But...

Chris Carter - 4 straight 1,000 yd seasons post-32
Henry Ellard - 3 straight 1,000 yd seasons post-32
Jimmy Smith - 4 1,000 yd seasons post-32
Irving Fryar - 3 1,000 yd seasons post-32
Rod Smith - same as Fryar (I'm sure Shanahan remembers this guy)
Marvin Harrison - The same as Ellard
Donald Driver is STILL tearing it up - 3 straight 1,000 yd seasons post-32
Derrick Mason - The same as Driver... still doin it
Hines Ward - both years since 32 - over 1,000 yds
Issac Bruce - similar numbers to Monk
Torry Holt - 700+ yds the last 2 years
Steve Largent - 900+ yds for 2 seasons post-32
Andre Reed - 1,036/880/795 yds for 3 years after 32
Michael Irvin (we know how he took care of his body) - 1,000 yds at 32
Keyshawn Johnson - 3 800+ yd seasons post-32
James Lofton - had 1,00 yd season as 35 year-old
and our own Joey Galloway - 3 straight 1,000 yd seasons from age 34 to 36

From the little bit of research I've done, it seems every good receiver stays that way until about 35... then it's a wrap.

In the RIGHT SYSTEM... TJ Hoos-your-mamma could have a couple of productive seasons... Remember... the dude does have at least 900 yds receiving for 6 consecutive years now... I think we'd take 800 yds from him this year as a compliment WR... just saying.

We are set at WR for now. TJ is probably a Viking by tomorrow.

FALSE. I think we would be set if we were in the UFL. Have not heard anything about TJ going to Vikes. Found this in another thread.

Donovan McNabb on easter weekend, Jammal Brown on Father's Day weekend, and here comes TJ Houshmandzadeh on Labor Day weekend!

From Twitter:

Former #Seahawks WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh's destination appears to be coming down to a choice between #Raiders and #Redskins.

I basically look at it as TJ vs say.. Roydell Williams or so.. He'd be an upgrade over Roydell for probably at least a couple of years. He'll be a cheap addition if only for one year. My only problem is who will be cut to make the room for him (I'm guessing Roydell) and having possibly one more guy in front of say, Terrence Austin.

I know this will get debated fiercely... lol... but ...

Art Monk was 32 in 1989.

That year he caught 86 passes for 1,186 yards and 8 TDs

Two years later (our Super Bowl year - 1991) he caught 71 for 1,049 & 8 TDs.

By the way... I JUST turned 33 and don't consider myself "over the hill" ... a 32 year old is MORE than capable to produce in the right system... my opinion.

Hail, I am 40 and I don't necessarily feel over the hill, but I am past my prime. I am in decent shape, but definitely can't do things I could 10 years ago. TJ might be a good pickup for say, a one or two year contract, but no more. Can't compare TJ with Monk either. Monk was a winner with an old school work ethic. From what I have read on NFL.com and Foxsports TJ sort of had an attitude before his release. Not saying he is a problem child, but he didn't go all out. I rather have a young kid trying to prove he belongs and is totally motivated.

^ there's a reason why Seattle let him go, cmon it's not like their loaded at WR people. I hope a 1 year deal but honestly I wouldn't be shocke if he chose Oakland instead.

Gus, You did read the long list of receiver not named Monk I posted a little bit a ago and their post-32 numbers right? EVERY good receiver that I looked up was good until 35 or so.

Seattle is, in my opinion, being turned into what Carroll wants.. which is to get "his guys" in there.... Mike Williams is one of "his guys" and Housh and him didn't hit it off I understand... and why tie up the future cap space when the team is rebuilding?... hence the riff and the cut..

But clearly... everyone needs to understand the Housh has had 6 CONSECUTIVE seasons with 900 yards-plus... if one of our Skins had those kind of numbers he'd be the greatest receiver we've seen in almost 20 years.

Truthfyl, I'm not saying Housh is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but how the hell does someone compare ROYDELL WILLIAMS to him?? Huh?? lol ... the guy has 200 yards more in his CAREER than Housh had LAST year at age 32 (when he was beginning to fossilize!)

He'd be great for us this year and next IMO... he was the #1/#2 receiver with the Bengals... I think everyone has pigeon-holed him as a slot guy... but he can be a #2 just as well...

I don't see ANY negative here. Seattle is picking up the tab! lol .. I mean... 6 CONSECUTIVE 900 yard seasons for vet minimum?? lol ... I'll drop it now 'cause it's pointless to argue over it... but whew... Roydell Williams? I get your point... and agree that's funny

My point exactly. He's a clear upgrade over at least one guy as far as potential and several as far as production recently. My only comparison was really to show that he'd be the best guy to swap out if we brought in TJ.

TJ to ravens good pick up for them. baltimore are strong at WR but weak at DB IMO.

Wow...Ravens are really stacked in WRs...the question is will their QB be able to throw to them? I think the Ravens offense might carry that team for a change.

Edit: where you getting your info from? I seen no mention of him going to the Ravens.
