Antonio Bryant to Skins - Make Sense?

Give me a chance before anyone rejects this notion too quickly.

Bryant is clearly *done* in Cincy. They have the TO-Ocho Batman and Robin show and Bryant is an afterthought. He is either gonna be cut or put on IR.

IF, and this is a BIG "IF", he passes a physical and is ready to go now, I think he'd be a steal - and we could get him for next to nothing (reserve player, late round pick - perhaps a 7th rounder that goes to a 5th if he hits a number of playing/performance targets).

Bryant is a clear #1 WR STUD. He was picked initially over TO by Cincy for a reason and we were hot on his trail at the time too.

His salary is manageable - like FAT Albert, a large chunk has already been paid out in signing bonus, which Cincy will just have to eat. That's a HUGE component of the deal.

He's a prototypical McNabb reciever - deep threat. We'd have Bryant and Moss out wide with DT or Armstrong in the slot. Galloway/Banks/Kelly or TBD as back-ups.

Suddenly our offense and WR concerns are alleviated.

And so long as we make the trade performance based and he has to pass a physical, it's a easy WIN for the Redskins.

Ok - go ahead and blast me :)

Feedback??

You're going to take this the wrong way but Ade Jimoh has more talent then this thread.

I won't blast you, but unless he is available, it is just a name. I saw the thread title, and thought it was a done deal, or maybe very close to done.

Would someone please name me one x-cowgirl that made even a mediocore impact on our beloved skins???? Their poison im tellin ya, like darts with feces on them. Id rather put the little guy from Kansas out there and tell him to go deep.

Whoa...I thought this was going to be a thread bumped from around February. I remember discussing this topic before.

The guy's injured and when healthy, it a headcase.

Talented sometimes, yes. Not needed here though.

I'm having a tough time deciding which of our final WRs to keep and cut...

Moss, Galloway, Thomas, Banks, Armstrong are locks in my mind.

Take a chance on Kelly who HAS potential, or take a chance on Austin? Then there is Roydell Williams who had not shown a lot until the last game and could be a good enough 5th WR.

We have plenty of options now...and don't forget that having Cooley and Davis at TE on the field at the same time is more dangerous matchup-wise than an injured, problem-child diva WR.

Suisham definitely had an impact.

You have to stop and consider the reason WHY they signed Terrell Owens in the first place when they had Bryant on the roster in Cincy.

The reason why is because Bryant is still nursing lingering injuries.

Stay away.

Knock on Bryant is his health - for sure. So I would only support this if the Skins are careful to craft the trade so that the cost is negligible if he gets hurt.

Bryant is 1 year removed from a 1250 yard season with the Bucs and was on track to repeat until ... dum, dum, dum.... he got hurt.

And that was with a low-end QB throwing the ball, not a hall-of-famer like McNabb. (Ok, kidding big-time about the hall-of-fame part, but you have to admit McNabb is far superior to the lame-o QB's in TB -- who the hell was their crappy GM anyway?? :) )
