I know Art, I have to play my usually Gus Frerotte devils advocate though. We will have a good year I think, and if e veryone stays healthy and our runnning game isn't so bad in the regular season, we should at least make a wildcard. I just drank too much Kool Aid during the Norv through Spurrier eras to get too geeked up in the preseason anymore.

Oh i agree with you on tryin to temper expectations. I honestly think we will win at least 10 games every year. Which last year was especially crushing, I understand the role you are trying to play.

I guess this season I am seeing more positives that have a bigger effect on actual success in the regular season, where in years past I was more concerned with the actual final score, and not the the little things that appear vastly improved on the team as a whole.

The little things in the route running of our WR is especially exciting and the way the oline is protecting our QBs when they have guys all flying around them. I am was excited to see the way the defense performed last night when AH entered in with the ones.

My biggest concern at this point is in the performance of the running game.

As for the running game, we have three new offensive linemen trying to develop chemistry, to learn each others tendencies. Only Dockery and Rabach have playing time together. This is only the third time those five guys have had a chance to gel, and the last two outings have come against the best rush defenses in the league.

The running game will get on track -- it just won't happen in the limited time we've seen so far.

It's officially time to start keeping an eye on what Detroit is doing with their offense. Browns defense or not, you didn't see anything from Matt Stafford that suggested he could go 13/17 with completions to 10 different receivers. He's doing that right now.

And Jahvid Best's line: 1 rush, 51 yards.

I told you guys, the Lions look half decent this preseason. They aren't going to win their division of course, but a 6-7 win season isn't out of reach for them. As long as they don't get killed with the usual injury bug they are a decent team. Skins should beat them by 10-14 on paper in my estimation, but they(Lions) aren't a crummy team that can be overlooked. Stafford looks like the real deal(better than Sanchez), and Best has the potential to be a beast. IF the Lions continue to boost their O line they will be divison contenders in a couple seasons.

I would think that we as team and a coaching staff would not overlook one single opponent this season.

It would be ridiculous for this team to have any thought of being able to just walk in any where and win.

The reason why I stated that we could out coach them is I believe that with Mike at the helm he will have this football team ready to compete hard every Sunday.

After being a 4-12 team this team does not have the luxury to overlook anyone I do not care if it is the Maryland Terrapins. They should be ready to come out and dominate and not have an attitude that they are going to walk in and walk out with a W.

Oh yea..I agree.

Manning is the General of Generals out there...I'm not sure I've ever seen a QB command the field like him.

I'm hoping we can beat them at home, but I would never bet on that one...Manning is just that good.

Maybe the new rule and placement of the Official will throw Manning out of timing and hurt the colts game planning. But when we do beat the colts , that will be their excuse im sure.
