The Pistons fans' behavior was rewarded by the NBA by effectively taking Indiana out of the mix in the east.
Sad but true... Indiana is gonna suck now; however the fans need to be repromanded, every one of them.

good, hope he gets a hefty fine too
he's been suspended w/o pay I believe so yeah I'd say that's a hefty fine, lol.
guess this gives artest plenty of time to rest and work on promoting his cd some more.
I honestly think its too severe for artest and j. oneal and b. wallace's suspension was not enough. wallace's overreaction and shove was the catalyst for the fans getting even more riled up. yes artest severely crossed the line, but an entire season without pay? I honestly don't remember oneal(atleast I think that was him) doing anything in the stands until that fat white dude in the wallace jersey started punching artest's head from behind while artest was being held, but the shot he gave to the fan on the court in my opinion was deserved(not to mention funny as s@!# seeing that dude get knocked the hell out for coming onto the court and trying to start a fight) fans have no business being on the court or field of play before, during, or after a game because more often than not it leads to something bad and/or someone getting hurt.
all in all this is one of the ugliest incidents in all sports history and could have been swiftly squashed if the refs, as that guy said in the other thread, had immediately ejected wallace and artest. I didn't watch the game but apparently the refs didn't do much that night to stop some pretty rough play and they should be reprimanded as well.
plus did anyone else see the footage of some cop threatening artest on the court with pepper spray while reggie miller and some other guy were trying to keep people away from artest? what the heck was up with that?

I liked what Woody Page on Cold Pizza said this morning that Artest needs "help" not a 73-game suspension.
IMO, Artest kind of get what he wants. He now can promote his rap album and take a relaxing year off and he didn't have to quit on the team ala Ricky Williams. Yes his suspension is w/o pay which will cost him millions, but he is already a multi-millionaire.
O'neal's suspension is just outrageous. Jackson's I understand as he was throwing the most random punches.

O'neal and Jackson should have been suspended for the rest of the season as well. Jackson was try to square off with a Piston who was trying to cool things down before things got real ugly. O'Neal sucker punched that one fan that was just getting up off the court after the hit by Artest.
I don't think Artest will have a relaxing year off. He'll be sued.
I don't like lawsuits, but I think that those three should pay out the teeth for their actions.
This kind of thing is gonna happen in the NFL if they keep allowing the showboating to take place. Except it will be 70k drunk NFL fans rather than 20k drunk NBA fans.

NFL has barriers, fans aren't nearly as close...

What barriers? Shoot, some naked guy (ONE PERSON) made it out onto the field at the SUPER BOWL for goodness sakes. Now, imagine something like what happened in Detroit the other night happen at Lincoln Financial in Philly. It would make the Pistons/ Pacers brawl look like a broadway musical. Just look at what happened in the Clemson/ SC game with no fan involvement...

nice... and by barriers, i mean the seating for fans is elevated and behind a wall thats got some height... in the nba, fans sit at the same level and about 5-10 feet from the court.
