Nice try dude. Nothing you said changes the fact that the Cowboys offensive line witnessed the fall of Rome.
What the heck are you talking about? He made reference to the age of the Cowboys Offensive line.

I made reference to the age of the entire Redskins roster.

I have no idea where you are coming from.

Go back to my original post about the age of the Cowboys o-line. This is all simple.

Shanahan says slim chance that McNabb plays vs ARI

I don't think that is a good thing. Donovan has been inconsistent in both camp and now the preseason games. I for one would have liked for him to at least get a quarter in against the Cards. I would like to see him get into a rhythm again in a game type situation before the real deal starts.

Dang....

I was one of the ones who was worried about McNabb's injury history when we first traded for him. But i think him getting injured in preseason is a good thing. I honestly dont think he will play in every game this year, so giving Grossman reps with the frist teamers in preseason is important.

Also I bet this puts a little more pressure on Trent Williams to work even harder and prove he can protect McNabb and be relied on.

Why would it be a good thing? You could look at it from both angles. Yeah, better he gets injured now than in the regular season is your line of thought. Thing is if he got hurt in a preseason game, what makes you think he won't get hurt often in the regular season, when the games count for something?

I think that they just don't want him to Malcolm Kelly it. I assume he'll be practicing soon enough but they won't risk it, but I have some of those concerns as well.

Yeah, I mean I understand why they are doing it, a sprain is a sprain, but he hasn't been so sharp this preseason. In camp most of our fellow Warpath buds that actually watched camp said he was underthrowing guys often. That in itself isn't so bad since he looked crisp againt the Bills, but then he had many awkward balls against the Ravens. I know it was the Ravens D, but still. You need him to get into a groove come Sept 12th, preferably in a game type environment.

Yeah a few more reps would help.

Maybe an actual gameplan as well. Unfortunately Grossman will see the majority of the benefit of that, but that may help us later down the line.

McNabb has frequently underthrown, mistimed, etc especially on mid-range passes for much of his career though. What surprised me was the underthrow on Armstrong.. I know sometimes he'd get out the ball late to D-Jack but it wasn't usually underthrown from what I remember.

To me it is all about the reps. Yeah they go back to practice after the Cards, but that isn't a game situation. It will be embarrasing to have Donovan look rusty against the Boys on Sunday Night Football and Romo win.

As much of what you say is true, there something you have to think about.

Mcnabb has played NFL football now going on 12 years....12 years. Yes,the terminology isn't identical to what the eagles ran,but much of it is very simular if not some the same in some aspects.

Think about this for a second? Grossman probably knows this offense twice as better as mcnabb. (since coming over from kyle shanahan and the texans)

Who's looked better out there thus far?

Mcnabb has seen live action for over a decade. He knows the speed of the game and he knows how to play good football. He's not perfect, but the guy gets it done.

He can learn quite a bit, just from going through the motions...

Think I'm wrong? Don't believe me?
How much of a struggle did brett favre have last season in Minny?
See what I'm saying..

Are we going to be perfectly smooth..Probably not.
can you promise me that if mcNabb played the Jets and cardinals all game..4 qtrs, that we would be perfect?
No..ya can't.

Besides...I would rather have a 6-time pro bowler learning on the job as the season is underway...

Than a 6-time pro bowler in a cast or wrapped from his torn ACL on left knee or leg, learning the offense as the season goes on from the bench. (because we just had to have him in there for 2 meaningless pre season games)

I just want Donovan to shake the rust off, nothing more. I don't doubt he has grasped the offense or the mechanics. Shoot he has always had the mechanics down, he just looks out of sync. You want him both healthy and tuned up for Sept 12th.
