This ass clown would have never made it in the old school football days. the NFL has definitely gotten soft and unfortunately the evolution of the game has breeded the Irvins, Keyshawns and TO's of the world. None of these so called "players" would have gotten away with their shenanigans on a team with say, a Jim Brown or Dick Butkus or John Riggins or Larry Czonka or Conrad Dobler to name a few. Haynesworth represents everything negative about professional sports accross the board. His sense of entitlement, imagined sense of persecution and subsequent media tirades are the direct result of an overpaid, self important, propped up baby. No ONE player is worth putting up with all the baggage he brings. Just another major blunder left over from the Cerrato years. It's a big shit sandwich and the Washington Redskins are gonna have to take a couple of big ole bites.

It's funny that you mentioned this about old school football, because I think that football as we know it will change drastically in the next couple of year, moving away from "old school football". Given all these issues with concussions, players' health after football, etc., etc. it seems that football will change. I didn't know about the whole rule about the play blown dead if a player's helmet comes off. Sorry for going on a tangent.

I can't ever remember hating a Redskins player this much. I can't stand this dude. I want him off this team so badly. I mentioned in another locked thread last night- I hope we go the route that Philly/Tampa did with TO/Meshawn.I won't waste energy hating on Fat Albert. He was a POS in Tennessee with questionable character, and Snyderatto thought it was a good idea to hand him $31M the first 14 months of his contract. Haynesworth is what he is - a selfish diva. But that was well known before he signed here, yet The Danny had to make a huge March splash in free agency. Should we be surprised how this is turning out???

Can't put 100% of the blame to AH. Why do I say something like that? Our culture is all about me me me and celebrity to the nth degree. THese guys thrive on it, some more than what they do on the field. Also, the old protestant work ethic is for the most part killed off. The owners and the different pro sports leagues love this crap though( drama addicts), even if they seem to hate it publicly. It generates hype, and increases ticket sales, so this stuff is going to be part of the game for some time. In fact the hype is bigger than the game anymore, which is sad. Look at the SB anymore. Two full weeks of total BS hype and worthless stories for the most part, just to promote a game that is usually slow moving and marred with yellow flags so that the NFL and the bookies get the desired result.

Good point. Unfortunately we have to now live with this big mistake by the previous front office. I'm done with this situation and I think folks should focus on talking more about other important relevant issues than this TMZ-like story.

"TMZ" very funny, but so true. The story is getting very, very old.

Dhall's one of the few who'd vouch for Albert mainly because he was the only one who did anything to come to his aid in the Atlanta game last year, and Albert wasn't the only one who deserved a 15 yard personal foul penalty in that scrum.

Yes, the majority of skins fans think he is a big fat putty cat just because an ESPN clerical staff member passed the fitness test he couldnt.

the majority of skins and football fans opinions are not in any way shaped by the following:

the fact that shanny and allen told him a few weeks before he was due the 21 mil dollar bonus in april that he had been paid over 12 mil for the 1st year of work which was fair and reasonable and that if he didnt want to be a part of this team and the 3-4 that they would release him out right making him free to sign with any team if he voided his contract and didnt collect the 21 mil. but if he did accept the 21 mil then he would accept whatever role the skins the wanted him to play, NT DE or safety.

he took the 21 mil dollar check.

he then tried to force a trade.

he missed the OTAs b/c he was working hard with his personal trainer.

he comes into TC and has to pass a conditioning test. he finishes the first leg then takes an over ten minute break in between. he then takes 6-7 days to pass the conditioning test.

he then had various ailments that prevent him from putting in any actual work.

he misses all of the weeks practices leading up to the ravens game.

he played half hearted against the ravens.

he then does his post game interview.

Not sure of your point? Defending Al, or indicting? I was merely having a little spirited fun at Big's expense in a typically satirical manner........

Yeah there's always a lot of revisionist history when we talk about the "good old days"

What outcome is Haynesworth trying to elicit with this behavior? If he wants to be traded, toxic behavior ensures that teams will be hesitant to sign him and also makes it less likely that we will get fair value for him which also hurts the cause. What is the end game here?
