In the NFL the play isnt whistled dead when a helmet comes off. Only in college

One year contract extension for Orton? Didn't see that coming

Source: Denver Broncos sign Kyle Orton to one-year, $9 million contract extension - ESPN (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp10/news/story?id=5478172)

It makes sense. He is playing well and he is the best answer for that team right now. By securing him for another year they have given themselves options.

They could sign him to a long term contract if Tebow isn't ready. At the same time this gives Tebow another year to get ready.

Let's face it at this point in time Brady Quinn is obviously a bad fit and a wasted trade. He needs to go to a WCO. Although this offense is similar to what he ran at ND he just does not have the arm for it at this level.

Per Adam Schefter's Twitter:

RT @giantspathanlon: NYG have signed former Eagle and 3-time Pro Bowl OL Shawn Andrews...team waived OL Cliff Louis to make room.

I don't see Indy returning the the SB. In fact I think New England is the favorite in the AFC. Baltimore has way to many injuries and a old defense. I'm not buying the Jets yet simply because I don't trust Sanchez.

Personally, I don't think Sanchez will be their biggest problem this season. This team didn't get much better, IMO. They definitely pulled a 2000 Skins type of offseason. I don't like losing Thomas Jones for LT, I don't like the Taylor signing, I don't like the Santonio trade very much and I hate the Cromartie trade. I did, however, like their draft.

I, personally, believe this team took a step backwards in the offseason and it becomes a monster step backward if they don't get Revis in.

I expect the Jets will be like the old Ravens, stifling defense, little offense. Not gonna work well in the AFC East tho'.

That is the most irrefutable logic I have ever seen written on Warpath. Were it not for 2 or 3 gaping holes, I would submit that to be written into law. :)

Irrefutable logic? no...... it's more like .... deductive reasoning.

Clearly this person is correct. Now if we could all be saying so him later.....yeah you told us so.

Given that they have used our tried-and-not-true method of grabbing superstars in order to buy a championship, if they go anywhere this year I will be pissed. If it doesn't work for us then it shouldn't work for them.

If it's the ball-carrier it's whistled dead.

Since we are on all of this predicting talk about the AFC this year, I want to make an observation.

Is it just me or does it seem that the AFC dominated 00's is coming to an end? My prediciton is that the NFC is now the stronger conference top to bottom with the NFC producing more than half of the Superbowl winners in this coming decade.
