Andy Reid doesn't want McNabb Redskins jerseys at his training camp (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/11/andy-reid-doesnt-want-mcnabb-redskins-jerseys-at-his-training-camp/)

Eagles coach Andy Reid noticed something rather distasteful out of the corner of his eye this morning: A Donovan McNabb (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=704) Redskins jersey.

According to Tim McManus of Philadelphia Sports Daily, a fan named Jim Devlin was asked to take the jersey (http://phillysportsdaily.com/eagles/2010/08/11/fan-asked-to-take-off-redskins-mcnabb-jersey/) off by security. He did so quickly, and the security guard reportedly cited Reid as the reason he had to remove it. Devlin wasn't kicked out practice.

The fan also wore the jersey to a Phillies game the other night to "make a statement" about the Eagles trade and get a reaction from people.

So yeah, Devlin is about as big a jackass as you'd expect.

I respect Andy Reid, but i think thats messed up.

I chalk it up to freedom of expression. Let the fans deal with him. Thats just as bad as what Dan Snyder did last year banning signs and T-shirts that were derrogitory.

Heck we still see Colt Brennan jerseys, and a slew of Collins jerseys...

Dont get me wrong, i just think thats pretty stupid. Let the man wear what he wants as long as it isnt vulgar or obscene.

Wow, insecure are we Reid?

Anytime I go to Giants camp I'm always wearing Skins gear. Some of the players seem to get a kick out of it and will make a comment like what's a Skins fan doing here, you scouting us?

I suspect that that Reid recognizes that Eagles' fans are generally incapable of acting like mature adults and wanted this guy to remove the shirt before other fans took matters into their own hands. Which, undoubtedly, would have been ugly. I think Reid was trying to do the guy a favor in the long run.

Thats what i'm saying....in general the hometown fans are tolerant and respectful of people wearing other teams' jerseys there. This guy sounds like a philly fan who wanted to make a statement.

Thats just a bonehead move by reid. You know people are either now gonna trash him or bombard opening day with McNabb redskins jerseys.

what i want to know is how that makes devlin a "jackass"? if he made the news for wearing it to a phillies game-hats off to the man. he's obviously creating attention for his "cause" and doing it simply by wearing a shirt that any man, woman, or child can buy from nflshop.com-what a "jackass"!

I predict there will be more McNabb (Redskins) jerseys than active Eagles' players jerseys when we play them in Philly.

Seriously, who's going to buy a Kolb jersey? :D
