Longtimefan 08-08-2010, 09:23 AM Yeah. Stuff like this upsets me more than the negativity from the WaPo that a lot of people have harped on over the years. It's just shitty coverage. I mean there's no excuse for a guy from the Washington Examiner and one from Fredericksburg to have some of the best coverage. I'll take it however it comes though.
Thankfully we're blessed with a new era. There was a time when the washpost was all we had, it was that or nothing. We can all be thankful for the age of the internet.
SFREDSKIN 08-08-2010, 01:18 PM Man, if Haynesworth keeps up the aerobic conditioning he just might end looking like Nate Newton does today.

Longtimefan 08-08-2010, 01:25 PM I am betting that this circus motivates Phat Albert aka Godzilla to destroy everything that gets in his way. This is what I learned from all of this:
I hate these geeky, non-athletic, pencil necked twerps that we know as the "media". All of these pathetic losers who couldn't bust out of a wet paper bag are gutless and spineless. If any of them were standing in front of Haynesworth they would bow down and assume the same position as that the dirty stripper who is trying to steal from him. All of them are pathetic. Matthew Stafford and Sam Bradford haven't busted a grape in the NFL yet both of them have bigger contracts then Haynesworth but all we see is losers talking about a 300 yard shuttle run. This witch hunt is driven by jealousy, plan and simple.
I hope Godzilla takes a cheap shot on every QB he faces this year.
Is that setting the record straigt or what? No jab at you SS, I love you man!
artmonkforhallofamein07 08-08-2010, 03:08 PM Honestly, the only reporting I like to read are the training camp reports from the Redskins Blog, and stuff from Twitter. Both sports radio stations in the area suck big time, trust me you're not missing much from that end.
I get what you are saying. Like I have said on here a 100 times or so. My favorite guys to listen to are Pat Kerwin and Tim Ryan on NFL Sirius Radio on Moving the Chains. Those guys are great. My point was more geared to hearing actual Redskins Camp News and not AH all day long. Now at least they will be talking about how he can have a positive impact on our team.

I WAS GONNA SAY....SS you don't have to take that!!!

The Goat 08-08-2010, 11:05 PM ASHBURN, Va. --
* When former Cowboys receiver Joey Galloway broke free on a deep ball, Haslett just about lost it. "How many [expletive] times do we have to do this?" he shoutd in the general direction of safety LaRon Landry. By the way, Landry has a very difficult time not destroying receivers across the middle -- even when players are in shorts. In Friday's morning session, Landry pulled up at the last possible moment when Chris Cooley caught a McNabb pass across the middle. It looks like one of Cooley's brothers (Taylor?) was conducting some interviews for the tight end's blog after practice. They were focusing on Santana Moss.
My word I'm so sick of the Landry nonsense. Has a hard time pulling up? Please...I've watched him avoid contact against bigger ball-carriers time and time again i.e. Turner, Witten etc.
Personally I hope the very first time Landry pulls his typical crap: a cheap shot once the play is dead or out-of-bounds, titty-bumping the ball-carrier w/o wrapping up, or just avoiding contact altogether, that Haslett tears into him before benching him for the rest of a game. I'm sick of our effing 1st rd safety huffing and puffing and nothing more.

I wouldn't say a witch hunt Pocket. I have a few words for you and that is market share/selling copy or ratings. Preseason is usually downright non eventful til the preseason games get going, unless you get some big name injuries or FA signings. THe fact is since you now do have the internet, cable TV, satellite radio, etc you have a ton of sports writers/broadcasters with nothing to really write about, but they need to write a story to get paid, so they exaggerate on what would normally be a non story or something hum drum. The very thing( the new media) that has freed us from the bondage to the old press is what helps generate this overhyped lunacy, such as the AH drama. In short, the media has grown too big and now they need to actually create news to justify their existence. The glut of media is actually the problem. The hunt isn't to destroy or hurt AH, t he hunt is to create a story that justifies their careers. Ever read the sportswriters from FoxSports.com, or even NFL.com? The mods in here and the more devoted Skins fans in here that really know their stuff could write better drivel than these guys. Shoot even I could given some time and being able to watch sports 24/7.

I hope Godzilla takes a cheap shot on every QB he faces this year.I don't consider Mike Golic(sp) .."a pathetic loser"...who at 47 and out of football for a while ..."gutless or spineless" was able to do the test right away.So from your post AH had no responsability for this at all,his lack of respect for the owner who gave hime everything he wanted, the new bunch of coachs...he wanted, and the rest of his teamates who have been at all the manditory practices,so it was the media not AH...is that right?
Pocket$ $traight 08-09-2010, 06:39 AM I don't consider Mike Goalic(sp) .."a pathetic loser"...who at 47 and out of football for a while ..."gutless or spineless" was able to do the test right away.So from your post AH had no responsability for this at all,his lack of respect for the owner who gave hime everything he wanted, the new bunch of coachs...he wanted, and the rest of his teamates who have been at all the manditory practices,so it was the media not AH...is that right?
Actually, Golic's charade was probably the worst of all. He didn't actually pass the test. For one, they used a camera angle which attempted to hide the fact that he was taking short cuts on the 25 yard distances. Second, he clearly did not finish in 73 seconds on the second try even though he was not running a full 25 yards every time. So for him and other "analysts" at ESPN to use Golic's "accomplishment" to badmouth AH is actually evidence of that all of them are gutless. If Golic was a real man he would have admitted that he came close to finishing the test and that someone like AH, who is in the prime of their career, should be able to finish it relatively easily. The "journalism" at ESPN is driven by one thing, profits.
I am not going to crucify and hold AH to a standard that dozens of players have not met for years. How many times have players decided to do their own thing in the offseason? The Miami guys have done it forever. I am not sure how AH disrespected the owner this offseason by coming into camp 30 - 40 pounds lighter. The owner empowered this man by structuring the contract the way he did, so he got what he paid for. I do have a problem with Albert not showing up to mini-camp if he said he was going to and I also have a problem with asking for a trade after cashing a 21 million dollar check but that is old news now. AH handled this poorly but the sensationalism of what occured was/is pathetic.

I have more of a felt-tip pen neck. But whatever, Pocket$ is entitled to his opinion. He's not the first person to blindly hate on the "media". Turn off your tv, your radio, your cell phone, shut down your laptop, put down your newspaper, your magazines. Then tell me how much you love sports then.
There are plenty of "media twerps" who would not bow down to Haynesworth. If you think Mark Schlereth, who like it or not is media now, would bow down to Haynesworth, you're kidding yourself.
Witchhunt driven by jealousy? Hardly. Yes Haynesworth isn't the first person to work out on his own in the off-season. But you know what, they all showed up on day one ready to go. Yes Haynesworth lost 40+ pounds in the off-season but he first gained about 20. Haynesworth has known about the conditioning test all off-season and he still couldn't pass it. That's on him.
Special camera angles for Golic? Please. I was standing right there. Admittedly, I will say I thought he might have been a second late on the second run but it was close. And the run was legit.
