Favre's latest less publicized immoral transgressions obviously will not broker the same headlines they would if his name was Vick, or Woods.
Brett Favre Reportedly hasn't decided to retire (AGAIN)Longtimefan 08-05-2010, 01:08 PM Favre's latest less publicized immoral transgressions obviously will not broker the same headlines they would if his name was Vick, or Woods. Paintrain 08-05-2010, 01:14 PM Any conversation about selfish athletes should begin and end with Favre. This isn't the first or second time he's done this. For all the hell T.O. and Ochocinco get for being 'selfish' they aren't holding their teams hostage for their own self interests. If his ankle was SUCH a concern then why isn't he in Minnesota getting round the clock treatments from team doctors and trainers. He's a sham and a charlatan. Great QB but the media is so suckered into his 'Aw shucks' good old boy act they can't see the fools he's making them out to be. MTK 08-05-2010, 01:17 PM Yeah the media blows it up, but it does both ways. Favre has a history of crying wolf and he seems to thrive on the attention, good or bad. BigHairedAristocrat 08-05-2010, 01:18 PM Favre's latest less publicized immoral transgressions obviously will not broker the same headlines they would if his name was Vick, or Woods. No it won't because his ALLEGED transgressions, while disgusting, don't even remotely approach the level of Vicks or Woods. If the allegations are ever confirmed to be true, i'm sure the media will be all over it. I do wonder, though, why you didnt include Rothlisberger in your comparison. Why just Woods and Vick? The comma after Vick indicates that either suddenly started exercising poor grammar or you did have another name there, likely rothlisbergers, yet removed it for some reason. Why is that? Great QB but the media is so suckered into his 'Aw shucks' good old boy act they can't see the fools he's making them out to be. I don't get your comparisons at all. Nothing Favre has ever done even approaches the crap T.O. has done... calling his QB gay (not that there's anything wrong with that), constantly bad mouthing his next QB, forcing his way out of teams, holding out any year he's remotely unhappy or wants to be traded, doing situps in his driveway.... the guy's been a locker room cancer everywhere he's been. His ex-team mates largely hate him. Favre, on the other hand, has been popular in every locker room he's ever been in. his team mates, with few exceptions, love the guy. I don't even know where the Ochocinco comparison comes from. Ochocinco's antics are loved by pretty much everyone (except the league). He's never been a distraction to his teammates. Of the three guys you mentioned, TO is the only one who's ever been a real problem anywhere. Paintrain 08-05-2010, 01:34 PM I don't get your comparisons at all. No excuses or justifications for Owens being a prick or Ocho a showman but they are called 'selfish' at the drop of a hat. What the issue I have is that Favre has made a pattern of holding teams hostage while deciding what he wants. Damn the fact that training camp started last week and his team is busting tail to get ready for the season. Forget that the team did the entire offseason, OTAs and minicamps without him. He was busy shootin possums! Enough is enough with this guy, either say you're in or you're out. The constant attention whoring is annoying. 12thMan 08-05-2010, 01:57 PM Yeah, I respect Favre the athlete; the man not so much. Mechanix544 08-05-2010, 01:59 PM He knows he is coming back, might as well just say it. MTK 08-05-2010, 02:03 PM Of course he's coming back. He just doesn't want to go to camp, and in turn the Vikes don't want to admit they are giving him special treatment. So we have this yearly drama. artmonkforhallofamein07 08-05-2010, 02:12 PM Of course he's coming back.
